You’ve entered into Performing Arts…now how to choose classes? 💭 Competitive dance is no different than any other sport. You wouldn’t expect a gymnast to perform a back handspring before mastering the basic skills, or an equestrian rider to compete over jumps before learning how to confidently ride and control the horse. The same is true in dance.

Our Performing Arts program is built on strong technical foundations. Each required class plays an important role in a dancer’s overall development and helps them become well-rounded, versatile performers.

For example, ballet provides the foundation for multiple style of dance by developing proper technique, alignment, strength, flexibility, balance, and artistry. Jazz builds on those fundamentals while improving musicality, precision, performance quality, and dynamic movement. Together, these classes provide the skills needed to excel in styles such as tap, acro, lyrical, contemporary, and more.

Dancers can just take ballet or just take hip hop. Once they want to start branching into jazz, tap, acro and more - our Back 2 Basics foundation is a requirement.

Our class requirements are designed to ensure every competitive dancer has the technical training, strength, and consistency needed to progress safely, perform confidently, and achieve their full potential as part of our team.

The skill makes the performance and confidence possible. Build that and the rest will follow, trust us!

That’s how we feel every time a registration form hits our inbox, and we just wanted to say thank you.

19 years ago when we started G2D, registrations would come via snail mail and most, not until in-person registration nights. Schedules weren’t planned until the fall, festivals were decided once the season had already begun, and all of our classes were run out of one room in the United Church gym.

Times have certainly changed in 19 years. Registrations are instant, classes fill before school is even out for the summer, festivals are booking before the previous season ends, AI is developing studio ads and content, and everything seems a bit in fast forward.

But some things haven’t changed. We still love dance. We get excited for every registration form - every returning student that we get to continue to watch grow, and every new face we get to meet. It’s still just us writing our content because we like to be the ones you’re actually hearing from 👋🏻. And we still get excited about new choreo concepts and training ideas. Once upon a time owning our own studio was just something we dreamed about as a what if.

It’s not lost on us how lucky we are. 🩵 Happy Monday, folks!

Kinderdance is for our littlest dancers, geared specifically for 3-4 year olds. We explore music, movement, and song and dance. We meet new friends, build imaginations, and foster creativity!

As we head into graduation weekend, we want to take a moment to celebrate our grads.

Mya, Paige, Mackenzie and Alexis — this weekend is about more than caps, gowns, and diplomas. It’s about the countless hours of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and growth that brought you to this moment. We are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and even more excited for everything that lies ahead.

As you celebrate this milestone with family, friends, and classmates, take time to soak it all in. You’ve earned every moment.
