Hunting and trapping through winter :-) got to love this office vew.
It is our pleasure to show people the beautiful province of British Columbia & guide hunters for Mountain Goat, Moose, Black Bear, Wolf & Trapline Adventures.
My father started guiding hunters in the 70's and we have grown in to the business in the early 1980's. Then in 1987 we bought our own first guiding area in BC and added a second in 2012. With 18 camps and hunting for 4 big game species plus trapping in winter and fishing in summer, we have a life filled with what people dream about. Hope to have you as a guest on day. Thanks for stopping by!

It has been a great spring this year with way more bears seen than expected. The apprentices were able to continue the tradition and bring meat home to their families and their community.
Our guest make it possible for us to run a highly successful youth apprenticeship program with Takla Nation Kids š

Working in Tourism
Guiding is not a regular job. It's a lifestyle that can be challenging and exciting. Long hard days, very rewarding work, difficult to imagine if you never done it but it is an unforgettable experience where you can also learn a lot about yourself and many couldn't imagine life without it.
If you are interested but unsure, we offer a guide-in-training internship program. That is in addition to our Driftwood Outdoor Guide & Business Apprenticeship Program.
The people you meet from all over the world and all walks of life often become friends for life. They become part of your journey in many ways. The conversations around the campfire in the evenings are just priceless.

Many years ago we were asked by the local family to reduce wolves as they were having a hard time getting their annual traditional meat supply. "Things are out of balance" So we began to trap wolves.
We had a successful winter on the trapline with our team this season. In total we got 14 wolves. Each wolf kills 9 moose/ year average. As per wolf study we were able to save a 126 moose this winter.
It is busy as we head out steady with bait, fuel, supplies and check all the traps, repairs on equipment, sleds and then the skinning. But it has become part of us and our business. We have about 15 weeks of trapping wolves each winter and spend about 10% of our gross revenue on this wildlife management project.

Getting ready for beautiful Salzburg
02/17/2023
The first ānormalā winter season visiting and exhibiting at the shows in Dallas, Dortmund and Salzburg afterā¦ā¦a couple of very unusual years.
People are excited to talk about and plan trips they had been dreaming about.
Our apprenticeship students have been accompanying us on the trapline and at the shows learning about business, traditions and culture.
All in all we are very happy with everything we do and canāt wait to get back out into the wild doing what we love.

We have not posted in a while since Covid was a storm we had to weather and we did. This year we had probably the best in 35 years. Thanks to all the staff and all the clients that amaze us every time when they place their trust in our company and staff. It's not easy as weather and animal behaviour play key roles in the outcome of every trip. Thanks again and safe hunting!

Such an honour to be able to work with Takla Nation, the families and staff to provide opportunities to these awesome young students through our tourism business. Thanks to Takla leadership support and in believing in us and the students!
Our clients love the program and the fact that they contribute to the future of these young people by booking with us.
But most importantly the students themselves are committed with passion and see a bright future in their lives.
Thank you NDIT for your support!
