Who's ready to get back on the gate? We're hoping Mother Nature gives us a break after this week's wet weather!

If you've lived in Prince George for any length of time, you know the forecast can change by the hour! 😅 At this point it's hard to know exactly what this evening will bring, so we'll be keeping a close eye on conditions throughout the day.

As always, if anything changes we'll post an update here as soon as possible. Please check our page before heading to the track.

Come hungry! We'll have hot dogs, snacks, drinks, and all your race night favourites available throughout the evening.

Want to represent 🇨🇦 at the World Championships?

If you are trying to qualify for the 'Super' World's in 🇫🇷, you can race either your Provincial Championship (UCI) or the 2026 Canadian BMX Championship, August 29 at St Albert Bmx.

ON - Sept 13 Kingston BMX Ontario Cycling

You will apply to Cycling Canada so visit their site to view the qualification criteria. * You can also apply for a position if you are unable to attend the qualifiers.

🌧️ RACE NIGHT CANCELLED – TUESDAY, JULY 28

We’re making the call a little earlier than normal today, but after seeing the amount of standing water on the track, it’s simply not going to dry out in time for racing tonight.

The track is far too wet to ride safely, and we don’t want to risk damaging it and undoing all of the hard work our volunteers have put into maintaining it.

As disappointing as it is to cancel, protecting the track means we’ll be able to get back to racing as soon as conditions improve.

Thanks for your understanding and continued support. Mother Nature wins this round! 💙💛

Before we get into tonight's race details, here's the weather update...

The forecast is currently showing an 80% chance of rain throughout the day, so at this point it's not looking very promising for racing tonight.

That said, we've all seen Mother Nature change her mind before! We'll be watching conditions closely throughout the day and will make a decision as soon as possible. As soon as we know, we'll post an update here.

We're still putting up our registration post and preparing for race night just in case the weather gives us a break. 🤞 Please check this page before heading to the track.

We were watching the weather closely all day and were really hoping it would cooperate, but it’s just not going to work out this evening.

🏕️ Who's planning on camping at the Supertrak BMX Provincial Weekend?

Our Provincial weekend is coming up fast, and we're working with the City of Prince George on our camping permit. To help with planning, we're looking for a rough estimate of how many families are planning to camp at the track.

Camping Details:
🏕️ Dry camping only
💲 $30 per night
📍 First come, first served (no numbered sites)
📅 Camping available Thursday, August 13 through Sunday, August 16

🏁 Race Weekend Schedule
• Thursday: Single Point Local Race
• Friday: Double Point Race
• Saturday: BC Provincial Race #10
• Sunday: BC Provincial Race #11

If you're planning to camp, please comment below with:

This is not a campsite reservation—we're simply trying to get a ballpark count so we can finalize arrangements with the City.

🚨 RACE NIGHT CANCELLED – THURSDAY, JULY 23 🚨

Not the post we were hoping to make, but we've made the difficult decision to cancel Thursday night's racing.

While the weather has been cooperating, we have a small window before this weekend's rain arrives to complete some much-needed track maintenance as we prepare for our 2026 BC Provincial Race Weekend this August! 🏁

Many people don't realize just how much work goes into maintaining a BMX track. It isn't just watering and packing corners. Our volunteer board spends countless hours rebuilding jumps, repairing corners, watering, packing, grooming, and making sure the track is safe and race-ready. It's truly a labour of love.

Some maintenance can only be completed when we have 2-3 consecutive dry days, and those opportunities don't come around very often. We simply can't let this one pass by.

This week we'll be applying Soiltac, a track stabilizer that binds the track surface together, reduces erosion, and helps keep the racing surface in top condition. It needs time to cure before the rain arrives, making this our best opportunity before the weekend.

A huge thank you to our friend Kris Fraser at Redwood Plastics for supplying the Soiltac and helping us get this project underway. We appreciate your support of Supertrak BMX and our efforts to continually improve our facility.

Another massive thank you to Local Rental Solutions Ltd for once again providing the specialized equipment we need to complete this work. Their continued support has been invaluable. Without partners like LRS, maintaining our track to the standard we strive for would be incredibly difficult.

While we're disappointed to miss a race night, we're excited about what this work means for the rest of the season. Every hour of maintenance now helps ensure we're ready to welcome riders from across British Columbia for our BC Provincial Race Weekend in August. We can't wait to showcase our track, our volunteers, and our incredible BMX community!

🌤️ Supertrak Weather Policy 🌤️

The safety of our riders, families, and volunteers will always come first.

To help keep our decisions consistent and fair, Supertrak follows similar weather guidelines used by many BMX tracks across British Columbia.

🌡️ Race nights will be cancelled if:

• Temperatures exceed 38°C, or
• The Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) reaches 8 or higher.

We monitor conditions throughout the day and will make a final decision by 5:00 PM on race days whenever possible.

While these are the club’s thresholds for cancelling an event, every rider and family is encouraged to make the decision that is best for them. Everyone has different comfort levels, health considerations, and circumstances, and we fully support you in choosing what feels right for you and your family.
