Welcome to Camp Wingate, a co-ed overnight camp located in the beautiful Laurentian Mountains, just 60 miles north of Montreal, Canada. Camp Wingate provides the ideal setting to foster memories, friendships and values that will last a lifetime. Our summer camp for children ages 7-17 offers a broad array of individual and team sports, performing and visual arts as well as camp-wide special events. In a fun and stimulating environment we provide a range of opportunities for kids to challenge themselves, gain confidence and expand their horizons. At Camp Wingate our goal is to promote a sense of camaraderie, enthusiasm, respect and responsibility. Our staff is hand picked, mature and motivated to teach, inspire, comfort and help create life long memories and friendships.

As a parent himself, Spike knows how hard it is to get kids away from their screens. At camp, technology becomes a tool for curiosity instead - identifying which plants we can eat, figuring out exactly what kind of salamander we just caught, and answering the hundred questions that come with every adventure.

From pitching tents and fire safety to baking bannock over the fire and foraging field strawberries, our campers head home with skills (and stories) that last a lifetime. 🍓

And Spike's advice for everyone watching at home? Get yourselves into nature. ☀️

Twelve years ago, Spike came back as part of the team that built Wingate - and set out to give campers his own favourite camp memories: nights around the fire, catching frogs, and camping trips with the people who become your best friends.

Today, outdoor education at Wingate means archery, canoeing, camping, hiking, berry picking, jam making, and yes... plenty of frog catching. 🐸

Disconnecting from technology. Reconnecting with nature. That's what it's all about. ☀️

We lived it fully. We tried new things, laughed until it hurt, sang at the top of our lungs, made friendships that changed us, and created memories we’ll carry long after summer ends.
