Two female competitors displaying all of the work and effort they’ve been putting into training. The only female bout of rumble 35. FULL STOP!!
It’s extremely difficult for women to find matchups in BC, as there are so many things that are considered to have a sanctioned (win/lose) match, such as size, experience and age. Then to consider people getting sick, traveling expenses, injuries from training etc etc. And female competitors in this area are few and far between.
I know many girls who trained for years without getting a sanctioned match because it’s not common to find women in your category in general!
This particular matchup had no metal, no win or lose, no points, just a small town crowd, and two women who put all of their heart onto the canvas they stood on to support a show near them.
I refuse to acknowledge any other behaviour that was displayed around this match! My fellow female competitor did an amazing job and found me to shake my hand after! I am not only proud of her effort and skills but also grateful for her giving me the opportunity to get in the ring, the only place in the world that my adhd brain can focus on one single thing in that exact moment!
I will continue to encourage and do my best to be an example for more men and women to join a sport that can be so incredibly intimidating!
I’m eternally grateful to 2 rivers boxing for continually supporting me in my boxing journey since day 1, and doing their best to accommodate women in such a high intensity and aggressive sport! And I am immensely grateful for my current coaches at inner city boxing who are always always always elevating my skills and investing in me to be the best version of myself not only as an athlete but as a woman and an active member of our communities!!!

February to April 2026…. I honestly had no idea there was such a drastic difference until I looked back! Just been so focused on certain goals the physique was not the top priority however it’s a nice affirmation that the work is paying off!
Cross training with my mini’s last week. 🏔️
This is your reminder to get outside! You don’t have to be on a snow covered mountain but fresh air and physical activity will always be a positive contribution to your training!
Run,
Swim,
Walk,
Shadow box in the driveway,
Carve the gnar,
What ever it is that gets you moving in the healthiest environment available, you’ve got this!
Ps. Better get your tickets for rumble 35 sooon!! It’s 6 weeks out today!
