Well... It has been a long road, but due to insurance restrictions, our school autocross program has ended. Hopefully one day we will be able to get it back up and going.
This Mazda B2200 was our original racecar. There wasn't much we didn't touch on it over the past six years. There will be a lot of barely used and brand new parts going up for sale soon while the shell will go for recycling.

Our Mechanics program was the recipient of a Government of Alberta Dual Credit Enhancement Funding Grant which allowed us to purchase a state of the art hoist and alignment machine.
This is a another tool students can use to enhance their skills for future industry careers.

Our time of 48.643 seconds in the afternoon was good enough for 18th place out of 33 drivers in raw time. After our last outing, my students put the factory brake rotors back on the car so the car could be put into a more suitable classification. This allowed us to move up to 17th place in Pax time which is our best showing so far!
49.5 seconds for my fastest run of the morning. Will be back on track at about 2:30pm

Without the ability to test drive before going straight into racing, we're working out the bugs as we go! First corner of the first lap, rear end felt like it had a chattering limited slip differential. This era Boxster was never equipped from factory with one so that's ruled out off the hop. Super aggressive traction control? No, we tried a lap without traction control and it felt the same. Quick Google search suggested the front engine mount could cause such a problem. My guys took out the old front engine mount this morning and we found it had completely separated. Our replacement mount is in and awaiting the next race! Race update!
Gas pedal broke on the fourth run. Have run to the school to get some tools to fix it up. Should be back on the track at about 2:15 or so!
