April 28 every year we pay our respects to, and remember, the thousands of workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents.

We also honour the many families and friends who have been deeply affected by these tragedies.

Every worker has the right to return home safe and sound at the end of each work day.

By working together – with employers, workers and our health and safety partners – we can prevent worker injuries and deaths before they occur.

Please take the time to check on those around you in the workplace and make sure that we do our due diligence to keep the workplace safe.

Rescue work is more than sitting in a trailer waiting for something to happen, it’s getting out and being aware of the hazards around you. Job scopes and environments change everyday, knowing your work space can make you better prepared for an emergency situation.

Congratulations to the families and rescue divers with the individuals involved that completing the operation which saved all 12 boys and their coach in Thailand.
