The general hunting season has come to a close in many Wildlife Management Units in the province. Thank you to all of the hunters who submitted deer heads for Chronic Wasting Disease testing this hunting season. Hunters play an important role in monitoring this disease in Alberta by submitting the heads of animals they harvest.
24-hour freezers are no longer available for head submissions. Freezers are being recalled from all designated sites over the weekend.

Attention Hunters: In anticipation of the Mule Deer and Pronghorn Antelope draw results for the 2021 hunting season, you can now find allocation summaries for Mule Deer and Pronghorn on our publications website. These numbers are presented by Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) and show the distribution of hunting opportunities for Residents, Landowners (where applicable) and Non-Resident/Non-Resident Alien (provided through Outfitter allocations). Note: Landowner licence information is based on last year’s landowner licence sales.
