Does any of this sound familiar?
➡️ You enjoy leading a team and being in the thick of things, but you also take direction from your boss who also may have a boss. It’s complicated and tricky to navigate being in the middle.
➡️ Juggling and managing conflicting demands, priorities, expectations and so many different personalities uses up a lot of your energy and brain power.
➡️ Peers, your team, bosses and customers/clients/patrons all need different things from you (sometimes all at the same time).
➡️ Your "unofficial" job description includes being a coach, a mediator, a confidante, a juggler, a magician making solutions appear out of thin air, sometimes even a therapist.
When you’re in the thick of it at work and you only have time to be reactive instead of proactive, it's easy to lose track of yourself.
💡This is what leads to missed opportunities, frustration, lack of boundaries, exhaustion, anxiety and stress.
Being a middle manager, assistant manager, supervisor, team lead or any other job title that tells the world you are a boss and you have at least one boss is not for the faint of heart.
I know this because that was my role for over 20 years at a public library. It was rewarding, maddening, frustrating, interesting. All the things!
A quick trip back in the time machine to 5 years ago...I chose to leave and transition to a new career as a coach because I was ready to do what I really wanted to do…help people make their experience at work (and with work) less complicated and more satisfying. And that’s what I’ve been building for the last five years.
Thriving In the Middle is a coaching plan I created specifically for people like I was, and you are, who lead from the middle and want to transform their path forward to one with more satisfaction, flow, growth, engagement and fulfillment in their career (and rest of their life, too).
❤️💪🏼🧠It’s about helping you thrive by shining a light on your values, strengths, unique gifts and by working with your emotions - all the things that make you, you - to build on and grow from.
As well, having your own personal coach means we’ll have powerful conversations about what matters to you. You'll have a space to work through challenges that you don’t want to (or feel comfortable or supported) to talk about with anyone at work. This is a space for you create a vision for your future and be supported to make it a reality.

Change is hard. Exhausting. Daunting. 😩
Both when you are choosing to change something in your life or career AND when change has been forced upon you…
like a job loss because of restructuring or a health issue that impacts your way of life (for example, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 30, just when it felt like everything was coming together for me).
🌅 But, a period of change and transition is also an opportunity to rise to the occasion and rise to your potential.
For me, and now most of my clients, “something” happens in their life that becomes the catalyst to pursue a deeper understanding of themselves to overcome challenges and move forward in a way that makes them feel good.
👇
You can struggle and let yourself be diminished by your situation because you perceive you have few choices
or
you can choose to dig deep and develop strong inner resources that will help you be adaptable, resilient, energized and motivated to handle what comes your way.
✨And the brilliant thing? 💫
You already have everything you need…your values, your strengths and ability to work with your emotions so they don’t derail your progress…will help you navigate change and transition to get where you want to go.

Struggling with emotions like anxiety, frustration, irritability or exhaustion due to pressures at work is something many of us face.
Understanding that stress from work isn't the same as the emotions it stirs up is pivotal in reclaiming a sense of control and peace of mind.
It's like having a roadmap where actionable steps become more clear.
Here are 4 strategies:
1️⃣ Embrace Your Strengths and Values
Start by identifying your strengths and what truly matters to you at work. Reflect on tasks that energize and fulfill you. Consider aligning your focus more on these areas by discussing potential role adjustments or projects that better utilize your strengths. This shift can reduce stress stemming from tasks that drain you.
2️⃣ Clarify Your Career Direction
Take time to clarify your career goals and values. Define what success looks like to you and whether your current role aligns with it. If not, consider setting goals that align better with your values. This process may involve exploring new opportunities or reshaping your current role to better suit you.
3️⃣ Practice Mindfulness in Your Workday
Incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily routine. Take short breaks to breathe deeply and ground yourself. Engage in tasks with full presence and attention. This mindful approach can help create a calmer environment.
4️⃣ Have Brave Conversations
Consider initiating conversations with your supervisor about job crafting. Discuss the potential to reshape your role or responsibilities to better align with your strengths and values. This proactive step may seem daunting but that’s okay.
💡Feeling empowered? Choose one actionable step from these strategies to start implementing now.
