18 months ago, I woke up one night because I had a vivid dream about writing a children’s book about what else? Hockey! Those that know me recognize that hockey has always been an important part of life for my family. It’s been a few years since Joey and I have been regulars at the rink, and we often reflect on the fun times we had not only watching our kids play but spending time with the friends we made there over the years.
So after many months, my late-night dream and Born To Play Hockey became a reality. The story portrays real-life hockey memories of Tanner and McKenna over the years and includes some references to people who were important to our family along the way.
This project was so much fun, especially since I managed to keep it a secret from almost everyone throughout, even Joey and the kids!
