The Prairie View Community Association would once again like to acknowledge the following for their support and donations to the PVCA Winter FunFest held last Sunday:
City of Regina | Municipal Government - The City of Regina provided funding for our event through the Winter Initiatives Grant. Thank-you for the opportunity to celebrate winter through outdoor adventure and community engagement! The city also supported our event by lending us several pairs of snowshoes and donating City of Regina Family Leisure Passes which were handed out to over 200 families!
TIM HORTONS LEWVAN CROSSING - Thank-you so much Tim Hortons Lewvan Crossing for the affordability and ease to supply free hot chocolate & cookies to every single person who attended our event!
Conviction Fitness - This year we added an outdoor winter obstacle course to our event. Thanks so much to conviction fitness for supplying the equipment and taking the time to set up the course. This was a big hit and very well utilized during the day.

The Football Academy is for athletes who want to be the best football players they can be.
There is no expectation that individuals cease playing all other sports -- we very much encourage athletes to play a variety of sports -- but this is a program for those who have chosen to make football their main sport.
We combine football-specific strength, conditioning, and agility drills to build big, strong, explosive football players.
With the Football Academy, you'll enter your season two steps ahead of everyone else and be in the best possible position to succeed on the field.

Youth Program Update -> Weekend Workouts Now Available!
"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."
I don't know about you, but my plan for September went out the window yesterday when the kids came home with their cross-country schedule and I was asked to coach the boys' football team.
It's so exciting to see all these activities back in full swing!
But, it also means we need to change a few things in the gym. With all of these after-school commitments in September, there's no way we can run our regular 4:30 workouts during the week.
Instead, we will.be having Youth (9-12) workouts at 4:15 pm every Sunday and Teen (12-18) workouts at 3:30 every Saturday.
One workout a week is 100% better than no workouts.
As always, these fall sessions will continue to build an athlete's strength without making them sore or tired.
The goal is improved performance and resilience towards injury, not to hinder their ability to play the sports they love.
Spots are extremely limited.

The thing about your youth is that you never get it back.
If you spend your time on the couch playing video games, you can't "make up for it" later.

And those are the kids who will make the team.
Those are the kids who become leaders on and off the field.
Those are the kids who will be able to take on life's problems with poise and confidence when they're older.
