It was a beautiful day spent with good company Jennie Sosnowski-Deschamps on freestone streams fishing dry flies. It is always rewarding to watch a wild trout slurp or strike a fly you carefully tied yourself. Whether you make minor tweaks to a classic, historic pattern or keep it original, the anticipation is the same.
While sitting at the vise, I already picture a trout hitting it. I imagine the water exploding after setting the hook and hearing that click-pawl from my Islander Precision Reels Ir3 reel. I envision the fight of my life or the acrobatic leaps the fish will use to shake the hook. By the time I finish tying a dozen flies for my next trip, my mind is already full of the memories that a single feather and hook might make.
