2024 Taoli World Dance Competition✨️
Last month, we had the wonderful experience to compete in the 2024 Taoli World Dance Competition in LA. With the guidance from our instructors, our team received amazing results for their repetoires and Academy Excellence awards as well! 🌴

Congratulations to our dancers who received the Most Outstanding Student scholarship and certificate award! They were selected by the criteria of their leadership, dedication, attendance and performance. We wish we could award it all of our dancers as they worked hard and put tons of effort into every class too!
The Colours of Dance Academy family would like to thank all of our dancers, teachers, family, friends, media team, stage crew, alumni dancers, volunteers, guests and a give special thanks to Principal Ms.Jasmine and Ms.Chen Ling 老師 for all their guidance and teachings!

🎉🎊Tonight is our annual Colours of Dance Academy’s Year End Show 舞彩雲霞 2024!!! 🎉🎊
Our last feature before our show is “The Panorama of Mountains And Rivers 青綠“ performed by the Jasmine Youth Dance Academy 加拿大茉莉青年舞團 from the Colours of Dance Academy’s Year End Show 舞彩雲霞 2023. A breath taking and intricate piece that has a rich history based off of a beautiful painting 🖼️
The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting” | Depiction of a Majestic Landscape Panorama By: Ling Chen 陳玲
Poetic Dance Drama “The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting” was choregraphed and directed by two renowned choreographers in China, HAN Zhen and ZHOU Liya. This drama was inspired from a well-known Song Dynasty (960-1279) painting, “A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains” which was painted by a 18-year-old genius painter, WANG Ximeng, He used half of a year to finish this 11.9-metre-long master-piece. The uniqueness of this painting is that the two colours, azurite blue and malachite green, were extensively used throughout the painting and these colours were specially made from precious minerals.
Group dance, “A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains” is a very well-known piece of the Poetic Dance Drama. Girls dance in their Song Dynasty style costumes in the colours of blue and green just as the colours used on the painting. Dancers with different postures portray the different sceneries of the landscape. The change of tempo and formations of the dance mimic the change of landscape that elapsed through time. The change of mood from peace and calmness to powerfulness of the dance brings the painting to life.
The well incorporated dance movements in this dance depict the details of the majestic landscape panorama creating a live version of this stunning masterpiece “The Panorama of Rivers and Mountains”.
