ParaCosom is our adaptive floor hockey program for children and youth ages 5–13 with a range of developmental needs and challenges. We launched this program in the 2024–25 season in recognition of the barriers often present in traditional, fast-paced sport environments, with the goal of offering an equally fun and accessible alternative.
Sessions are one hour each, with the full schedule outlined below. Every ParaCosom session includes warm-ups, skill-building drills, and group activities designed to develop fundamental floor hockey skills while also supporting personal and social skills such as active listening and appropriate self-expression.
Volunteer coaches and players serve as program leaders and buddies; however, this program functions around the direct involvement of a parent/guardian with their child. The volunteers are there to provide structure and guidance, the parent/guardian works one-on-one with their child to improve comfortability and facilitate participation.
All equipment is provided, and no previous sport or hockey experience is required.
Please contact Contact Rubyia at [email protected] if you have any questions.

In order to improve accessibility for our members, we have permitted online voting for our AGM, and so we must have certain instructions in place to ensure voter eligibility.
All members wishing to vote, whether attending in person or remotely through Microsoft Teams, must complete the registration form sent to your emails in advance. The information provided will be used to verify voting eligibility for the AGM elections, as per our bylaws. Verified voting members will receive access to the voting system during the meeting.
Voting eligibility is subject to review and approval under RCFHA bylaws and membership requirements.
Pre-registration must be completed by 6PM on Tuesday, May 26th. You will not be permitted to register on the day of the AGM, as we require some time to verify all eligible voters.
All eligible voting members, whether attending in person or online, must register their full name and email address using this form. Members participating remotely are asked to log into the Microsoft Teams meeting individually using their full real name for verification purposes. Approved voters will receive voting access information by email or text message once voting begins during the AGM. A separate registration form must be completed for each eligible voting member.
Check-in will close at 6:45 PM sharp on the day of the AGM for both in person and Teams participants. If you are not in attendance by this time you will not be eligible to vote even if you have pre-registered.
A link for the AGM was sent to your emails. We have re-attached it here for your convenience. Any questions regarding voting eligibility should be directed to the RCFHA Registrar prior to the AGM at [email protected].
