Wow, time has flown by. It's been a while since I made a post here. Lots of great project have been completed but this one was such a pleasure to build. An All-Road build, fillet brazed, 38mm tires, and one of my absolute favourite colours - Lexus Structural Blue. This blue literally 'glows' in low light. Such a unique paint. The full selection of photos can be founds on the Dekerf website in the gallery. https://dekerf.com/gallery/

Into a nice steel frame again. Internal routings with full guide tubes. 3 in the downtube! Very busy in there but will make for tidy cables. Happy with the fillets. Onward.

Titanium gravel fork with a full polish I've just finished up. Turned out fantastic. Nice beefy 1.5" - 1.125" tapered steerer, butted fork blades, 12mm thru axle. No brake mounts! (clients request). The polishing is a lot of work but it does make for a striking look.

I've recently added the option of hand smoothed welds on my titanium frames. Time consuming but I really like the finished look.

Super beefy chainstays coming together. Lots of shaping to get all the clearances right. Sliding drop-outs.

I've got a great build in the works. Will be a fairly stout mtb frame. Fillet brazed. Early stages but getting into the internal routing for the dropper post.

I recently came across some old dusty boxes containing NOS Dekerf Team FS frames from 1999. I have 5 of them in total which I would like to sell. One is currently painted (18.5"), the rest are unpainted (2-18.5" + 2-20") but I would custom paint and assemble them to order. All have orginal Fox shocks, linkages, pivots, bushings, and hardware. Everything brand new. These are 6" travel frames. Price $1500 each. This includes single colour paint; pick your colour. Depending on what is left they will also be on display and for sale at the upcoming Vancouver Vintage Bicycle Swap Meet on May 7 for anyone who wants to see them in person.

Titanium monostay for direct mount brakes taking shape. It’s always more time than you think!

Back to custom work again! I don't always take fillet brazed frames this far but this client has waited a very long time and been so patient with me. I wanted to make it extra special. Still some work to do but getting close now.
The question I always face when building frames like this is when to stop. When are the fillets the right size, when are they the right shape, when is everything smooth enough? What I do is try and remind myself of some of the great fillet brazers out there whose work I admire. Tom Ritchey, Steve Garro, Don Walker, and many others. I always like looking at photos of their work as it inspires me to do my very best. We all need mentors!
