The location where this painting was inspired from; is where River Rafters exit the Chilliwack River on O'Byrne road.

The translation in Halq’eméylem is "Ts'elxwéyeqw Stó:lō leq'à:leqel'. I'm grateful for the Sto:lo people of the Ts'elxwéyeqw tribes who protect this river for all to enjoy.

What is community? This is. Thanks to everyone who put their funds, minds, bodies, and creativity into making this turnaround happen. ‘Use Our Voice’ is back in better shape than ever. Thanks to artist Kevin Ledo for traveling from Montreal to restore the original artwork and taking part in the celebration. Thanks to the Mémiyelhtel group team, youth, and Elder (Yvonne!) who added new Halq’eméylem words to the wall. Thanks to the Pil’alt Warriors Dancers and Coastal Jam dancers, singers, drummers, and organizers who shared their songs and stories. Special thanks to Brenda Pike and Brea G. Tso for coordinating alongside us. And Luke Pike for MC’ing! Thank you to Carrielynn for your words and leadership. Big love to Inez for being a graceful human throughout all of this. May Days creations from the many busy young hands that came by the Art Cart in front of the City of Port Coquitlam Community Centre. We were set up behind the sculpture honouring Poco hometown hero Terry Fox.
