THREE FROM THE SAME SCHOOL. THREE TO DIVISION I. 🏀

Drive standouts KC Ibekwe, Dominic Parolin and Alex Birsan all came through Centennial Secondary and have now earned NCAA Division I opportunities between 2020 and 2026.

A remarkable six-year run for Centennial and Coach Lucian Sauciuc, who led the program during this period and is Drive’s Director for Burnaby/New West and Tri-Cities.

Having Coach Lucian and the Centennial staff develop these players during the school season, while all three became standouts with their Drive teams, proved to be a special combination.

A huge congratulations to longtime Drive standout Alex Birsan on his commitment to NCAA Division I San José State!

Alex’s story with Drive goes all the way back to Grade 4. He spent his entire AAU career with us, growing from a young kid in the program into one of the best players to ever wear a Drive jersey.

Alex finishes his Drive career among our all-time leaders in wins, points, games played, rebounds and blocked shots. When people talk about the best players in Drive history, Alex will always be part of that conversation.

He’ll join San José State for the 2027-28 season, competing in the Mountain West, after playing the 2026-27 season with Royal Crown.

We couldn’t be happier for Alex and his family. Years of work, loyalty and belief have led to this opportunity.

All Drive Club Team schedules are set for the upcoming season, with teams from U10–U18 across the Lower Mainland.

Tryouts begin this weekend in Richmond and North Shore, with all other locations starting soon.

Our young players can play with their local DRIVE regional team, while the top players from across our regions have the opportunity to come together for DRIVE Selects and compete in high-level events throughout the USA.

We believe playing locally is important. But to truly develop, players also need to get outside their own backyard, travel and test themselves against great competition.

DRIVE Selects is exclusively for DRIVE players. You can’t play for another club and just join us for the travel events.

There are more places to play than ever. Choose a program with a pathway and a track record of taking players where they want to go.

After a tremendous first year, Drive Selects is returning for Year 2, and we’re ready to take it to another level.

Our top U12-U15 players will have the opportunity to compete in major tournaments across the Pacific Northwest, including Jr. 3SSB events and the chance to qualify for the Jr. 3SSB Championships in California.

Players who earn a spot on the top Elite I team at any of our regional Drive locations will be eligible for selection.

In all our years at Drive, we’ve learned that players need to compete outside their local area to fully develop. Different styles, tougher opponents and high-pressure games expose players to a level of basketball they cannot experience by staying local.

If you want to play high-level hoops, face great competition and represent Drive in the USA, this is your opportunity.

What a year for our Richmond U13 Elite I boys. 🏆

This group went undefeated against U13 teams in BC and consistently played up at the U14 level, beating several clubs’ top teams along the way. They proved they weren’t just the top U13 team in BC, but one of the top U14 teams as well.

Led by Coach Jas Singh, one of the best players to ever come through DRIVE and a former SFU standout, this is a deep and talented group featuring some of the top young prospects in BC.

The boys capped off an incredible season with 7+ tournament championships across the U13 and U14 levels. 🏆🏆🏆

Our entire U13 age group at DRIVE is extremely strong, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.
