Hello hello, I’m Olivia, one of your social events coordinators for this season🍓 I started dragon boating in high school with KTT, but had to stop paddling due to my eczema. I loved the sport so much that I looked for other ways to stay. Now I call and steer, so you can always find me at the very front or very back of the boat 📣 Dragon boating has made me a better person and UBC Current as a whole means so much to me. To all my Currents: I LOVE YOU🫶💛💙

Hello, my name is Jun and I am one half of the Social Events Coordinators of UBC Current :) We organize fun monthly socials for the team to get together and... socialize !!! 🤯 🤯 🤯 I love dragon boating; I took a chance back in Grade 8 to try this sport and have paddled ever since! This team and community is so supportive, so welcome, so engaging... Really brings me joy to train every week with these people. 😎 🌊

Hello hello! I’m Ian and I am the treasurer for UBCC. My job is managing the finances of the team 🤑 I joined UBCC in first year and it was the best decision I made going into uni. I love paddling, racing, and hanging out with the team! 😛 This is my second year with UBC and I look forward to making many more amazing memories and enjoying the rest of the season!!

Bello!! My name is Hannah and I am the current fundraising coordinator for UBCC! I help support the team by organizing and running fundraisers like Bak’d and our carwashes 🚗! I started paddling in grade 9 with KTT 🐢 and my love for the sport and its people has continued to grow ever since! This will be my 3rd year on UBCC and I can’t express how grateful I am to be constantly surrounded by the joy and silliness this team brings

Hihi! Im Emily, the current manager of UBCC’s Blue crew. I help support team operations for our crew behind the scenes, working on scheduling, logistics, communications, and adapting to unexpected challenges, overall doing my best to keep things moving efficiently through practices and races 🥹 I care a lot about this team and the experiences people have being part of it. And as I enter my second year on UBCC, it is my honour to support a competitive crew that continues to push themselves, yet silly as ever :)
I owe a lot to my first team, Ouroboros Platinum, for sparking my passion for paddling and introducing me to such a welcoming community! The endless opportunities to travel, compete and grow alongside my closest friends, I could not ask for more… But outside of paddling, you can always catch me talking about my two cats at any given chance (I adore them to bits)!!

Hiya! I’m Alicia the Gold manager for UBCC, my role is to organize practices, sign ups, and races! I joined UBCC as I dragon boated in high school and wanted to join a semi-comp team so Gold was the perfect fit 🥰 This year is my fourth year with UBCC and I’ve made so many good memories with this big team, I can’t wait for more to come 🤩

Hi! I’m Dayna, the current president of UBCC. My job is to support the exec team and oversee the various initiatives we have going throughout the season. I started paddling in high school in with KTT, and have loved it ever since! Getting to make so many friends and spend the summers on the water together has been the dream :P

Hello, I’m Nathan! My job is to manage relations with our current sponsors, as well as to support our wonderful exec team in a variety of aspects. I first started paddling 2 seasons ago with UBC Current. I’ve always loved the team culture within our club and I greatly enjoy meeting new people on the team. Looking forward to paddling in the summer weather! ☀️ 🫠 🌊

CORA Outrigger National Sprint Championship 🏃‍♀️🌊

This past weekend, UBC Current Blue paddled in our very last Outrigger race of the season 🚣‍♂️

We had a lot of fun competing in our animal sound themed boats- doing sprints and turns for the first time!

Thank you to all the teams on the water with us, it was a great way to close out our outrigger season. And of course, thank you to for organizing!

March Madness 🍀🌊

This year’s March Madness, UBC Current Blue was as performative as possible. With names like Labubu, Matcha and Totebag, our boats had so much fun at our second outrigger race of the season! 🍵📓
