We got off to a strong start and built an early lead, but the other team settled in and fought their way back. From there, it was a back-and-forth game, with both teams trading ends and neither able to pull away.
We needed to steal the final end to force an extra end. In the 8th end, they had the hammer and played it perfectly, drawing full four to seal the win. A tight, competitive game that came down to the final shot.
Not much time to rest as we take part in the Valleyfield Invitaitonal next weekend.

Strong start to our 3rd game but, ran into some bad breaks. 3rd end was looking good but, somehow we just couldn't avoid some jams. Fought hard though and some bad breaks in the 6th but, that is curling. There are going to be games that go our way and some that do not.

Even with that, we sre proud to say that we qualfied to the playoffs with a 2-1 record and what helped also was our draw to the button results as we ended up finishing 4th overall out of the 24 teams competing. Get your coffee ready and make yourselves a nice breakfast and enjoy some curling. We will be facing off some good friends of our Team Gibeau.

A solid one for Team Wise today — 9-3 win over Team Sambin.
We put together some great draws, stayed patient, and most importantly, kept our heads in the game. A couple of big ends gave us some breathing room, and we did a good job staying composed and making the right shots when things got a little more interesting.
Overall, really happy with how mentally sound we were from start to finish. Good ex*****on, good communication, and nobody completely lost the plot — always a nice bonus.

This evening was officially the start of the season for us. Some shaky moments during the game but, that's what happens when haven't played together since end of April. Great communication though during the game and determination of ataying in the game never left. Thanks to some amazing sweeping by Jon and Adam and great weight by Zack in the 6th end, they were able to tie the game. Even in the new season, the patient game continues on with the team as with that deuce in the 6th came a big steal of 3 in the 7th. In the 8th thanks to keeping things clean, they ran the other team out of rocks. Great win, and more fantastic games to come.

This past weekend there was some curling action. Other than a team practice Saturday. Zackary Wise was participating in an open doubles spiel with Stewart Yaxley which was held at the TMR Curling Club. Both of them was using the spiel to warm up for the Equinox Bonspiel being held next weekend also at the TMR Curling Club.

Finished round robin with a 3-0 record and finished 2nd overall in round robin with a solid draw to the button. This took them into the quarters where they had to do a 3 game day. Where did the 3 games lead them to? With the quarter finals being right and thanks to some hero shots by Stew, it took them into the semi finals. Semi finals as well was a tight battle where they were down 4-0 after 3 but, in doubles anything can happen. They took a 5 in the 4th and a bit of patients had to happen as they ended up stealing 3 in the 7th which pretty much sealed the deal there. The finals was a complete draw game for the two as neither of them were able to miss the 4 foot. With nice precision they were able to seal the deal of winning the doubles spiel. Now that spiel has come to an end, they are back to being adversaries in the quebec circuit.

Up next for the team will be the first circuit spiel of the season, as mentioned being held at TMR Curling Club. Games are as follows
Friday at 7:30 vs Team Dumont
Saturday at 11:15am vs Team Sambin
Saturday at 5:45pm vs Team Robillard
Playoffs begin Sunday

We are one week away from taking part in the Equinox Bonspiel being held at the TMR Curling Club. We are very excited for the season to begin. We've been on the ice a couple of times and planning on being on a couple more before the spiel begins. We are all eager to hit the ice and doing what we need to be ready for the season. We will be posting the draw as time gets closer to the spiel.

What's something that one of us will be doing to prep for the upcoming spiel? Zackary Wise of course of anyone on the team will be taking part in an open doubles spiel as well, being held at TMR Curling Club. He will be playing with an old teammate of his, Stewart Yaxley. This spiel is not serious, this is just an open event that the club has been doing for all those wanting to curl.

With it being close to mid September now, it is almost time to put away the golf clubs, softball or baseball gear and to take out the curling gear.

With the season now within a month a way, we figured it would be best to show our schedule again. We are looking forward to the season and are eager to hit the ice. There will be more spiels to come but, from September to end of November are the ones that count towards the road to Rouyn Noranda. We will not just represent ourselves as individuals and as a team well but, we our proud to be representing the club that we play for which is the Glenmore Curling Club.
