🚗🏒 THE DREADED CAR RIDE HOME😬

JAMIE GRAY - Mental Performance Consultants Tactical Take. The game is over, but the second period starts in the parking lot. 👀

“Why didn’t you shoot?”
“You need to work harder.”
“Coach should’ve played you more.”

Parents, sometimes your player doesn’t need a coach on the drive home. They just need a parent. ❤️

🏒 THE PUCK DOESN’T CARE.

Coach Rob Gamble says:

It doesn’t care about your reputation, your excuses, your rankings, or what people said you were going to become.

When the puck drops, the only thing that matters is what you do with the opportunity in front of you.

💯 Talent gets you noticed. Work ethic, accountability, and how you respond when things get tough? That’s what separates you.

🏒 SPRING HOCKEY: DEVELOPMENT… OR DISTRACTION?

Every spring, the debate returns. More tournaments. More games. More opportunities to get noticed. But are we always asking the right questions?

In this clip from Tactical Take, we’re reminded that discipline is a key to success. And that raises an interesting question when it comes to spring hockey.

Are we developing better hockey players by adding more tournaments to the calendar, or are we sometimes confusing more hockey with better development?

🤔 Let’s hear from the hockey community:

🏒 Do spring hockey tournaments provide valuable experience, competition, and exposure?

💰 Are families spending too much money chasing opportunities that might not translate into long-term development?

📈 Would players be better served spending the spring working on individual skills, strength, conditioning, and the fundamentals?

Or is there a balance that makes spring hockey worthwhile?

Parents, coaches, players — we want your honest opinions. 👇

Where do you stand? Is spring hockey an important part of a player's development, or has the tournament culture gone too far?
