Welcome to Week 2 of our monthly journey! As we continue aligning our physical practice with our inner intentions, this weekโ€™s focus pose helps us build strength, focus, and poise both on and off the mat.

๐Ÿฅ‹ WEEKLY MANTRA: "Control starts withinโ€”on the mat, in my body, and in my life." ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

As we step into Week 2 of September, this mantra brings our core monthly themes directly into practice: Yoga (Ahimsa / Non-Violence) and CAN-RYU Jiu-Jitsu (Respect).

True non-violence and respect aren't passiveโ€”they require active self-mastery.

In CAN-RYU Jiu-Jitsu, we develop precise physical control and gross motor awareness so we can defend ourselves while keeping our partners safe. In Yoga, we build inner restraint and mental clarity. When combined, we realize that true strength lies in governing our own reactions rather than trying to control others.

When you master your inner state, you honor the principle of Ahimsa by choosing restraint over conflict, and you embody Respect by treating yourself and those around you with patience and care.

How We Practice This Week:
โœจ On the Mat (Respect): Controlling our movements and force so our training partners feel safe to learn and grow alongside us.
โœจ In the Body (Gross Motor Precision): Moving with clear intent, efficiency, and physical restraint.
โœจ In Daily Life (Ahimsa): Pausing before reacting to stress or frustration, responding with calm composure rather than anger or judgment.

Join us in class to practice self-control from the inside out:

Welcome to Week 1 of our new monthly journey! As we align our physical practice with our inner intentions, every week brings a new focus pose to ground our work on and off the mat.

Physically, it releases built-up tension in the back and upper body. Spiritually, it embodies the practice of Ahimsa (non-harming)โ€”releasing physical defensiveness and reminding us that true strength flows from a place of openhearted peace rather than force or aggression.

๐Ÿฅ‹ WEEKLY MANTRA: "My movement is for harmony, my technique is for peace." ๐Ÿง˜

As we dive into our September themeโ€”Yoga (Ahimsa / Non-Violence) & Jiu-Jitsu (Respect)โ€”this weekโ€™s mantra brings both practices together on and off the mat.

True self-defence and mindful movement share the same foundation: protection, not provocation.

Whether flowing through a yoga sequence or practicing CAN-RYU jiu-jitsu techniques, our movement exists to build inner stability, protect life, and de-escalate tension before it starts. Physical skills give us the confidence to stay calm under pressure so we can respond with peace, respect, and kindness.

This Weekโ€™s Mindful Focus:
โœจ Movement for Harmony: How can you use your physical practice to clear tension and bring balance to your day?
โœจ Technique for Peace: How can you use your strength and confidence to de-escalate stress or conflict in your daily life?

Reflect on this mantra with us in class this week:

๐ŸŒ‘ SEPTEMBER NEW MOON INTENTION SETTING CLASS ๐ŸŒ‘

One of my favorite parts of what we do at Aurora Life Sports is finding ways to take yoga off the mat and integrate it into real, everyday life. Carrying that sense of presence, clarity, and focus into our busy routines is where the real magic happens.

Thatโ€™s why I love our monthly New Moon Intention Setting classes so much.

Instead of moving through life on autopilot, these monthly sessions give us a dedicated space to pause, check in with ourselves, and set clear intentions for the month ahead.

This September, weโ€™re taking what we have learned throughout last months theme โ€”Rooted Powerโ€”and moving forward with action. Specifically in focus are two of my favorite mantras:

โœจ โ€œGround down. Power upโ€
โœจ โ€œSettle in. Stand tallโ€

Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges, busy schedules, and stressful situations at us that can easily shake our foundation. But these mantras remind us that when you ground yourself in your own strength, settle into your core values, and stand tall in your boundaries, nothing can uproot you.

This practice also ties right into our September theme of Ahimsa (non-violence)โ€”extending active kindness, patience, and compassion to ourselves as we navigate real-life growth.

If youโ€™ve been looking for a moment to reset, realign your routine, and reconnect with your inner stability, Iโ€™d love to have you join us!
