Vernon Vipers defenceman Dylan Compton will suit up for Team East in the BCHL’s Top Prospects Game on Friday, June 20th.
In the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game on Wednesday, January 25th, Seattle Thunderbirds’ centre Gracyn Sawchyn and Team Red will take on Moose Jaw Warriors’ goalie Jackson Unger and Team White.

U7 DRILL - Open Lanes
SETUP: Draw two double lane “streets” on the ice (bingo dabber recommended) complete with a dashed line on each (lane changing permitted). Street 1 runs towards blue line, street 2 towards net (add a u-turn cone at top).
ACTION: Coach will close one lane on each street by standing in it. Player starts with puck, must stick handle with head up to identify which lane is open and which is closed before taking it. PROGRESS to a more active roadblock, and/or having the player perform a deke to one side that the coach bites on so that the player can skate up/down each open lane and get to the net.
TEACHES: heads up, open ice identification, puck control, dekes, intro to basic pressure
