Dear Students and Parents:

We are excited to announce the details of our first ever Sky Taekwondo Online Zoom Competition!

The competition will be held on Zoom on Friday, May 28th at 6:45 p.m. and is open to all Sky Taekwondo members. Please note that any regularly scheduled Zoom classes prior to 6:45 on May 28th will run as usual and will give the competitors an opportunity for extra practice for the competition.

Registration is required and must be completed by email before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27th. Email [email protected] with the name of the student and training location to register.

We will forward the Zoom link over the weekend. Please feel free to invite all of your friends and family and share the link with them.

The competition will begin with an opening ceremony led by Master Nam followed by an amazing demonstration by our Sky Taekwondo Masters.

Here are the details of the competition:

1. Each student will have 45 seconds to 1 minute to demonstrate their pattern and a board break of their choice. Sky Taekwondo will be providing a board for each student who has participated in the Zoom classes as well as those students who are participating in the competition (one board per student). Pick up times will be announced early next week. We will have a celebratory board breaking ceremony in the last Zoom class of the week, however, if the student is participating in the competition the board should be used for the competition and a paddle or piece of paper can be used for the breaking ceremony.

2. In addition to points being awarded during Zoom classes, points will be awarded during the competition as follows:

1st Place - 10 Points
2nd Place - 9 Points
3rd Place - 8 Points
4th Place - 7 Points
5th Place - 6 Points

The Masters will be our distinguished judges and at the end of the competition will add up all the points for both class participation and the competition, and prizes will be awarded as follows:

1st Place - $100 Sportchek Gift Card
2nd Place - $75 Sportchek Gift Card
3rd Place - $50 Sportchek Gift Card
4th Place - $30 Sportchek Gift Card
5th Place - $25 Sportchek Gift Card

In the event of a tie we will have a draw.
