Opening day for the 2026 season is tonight for our leagues. Tonight, all umpires assigned to games are under 18 years old. Excited to see what the future holds for these great young umpires.

Fast Pitch: Level 1/ Youth: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Slo Pitch: Level 1: 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm
Fast Pitch Level 2/ Youth: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Slo Pitch Level 2: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Warmer weather is here for now. The 2025 season starts tonight. Proud to announce that we will have all-female umpire crews on all our games tonight. Great way to start the season, exciting moment for the umpire association.

Umpire Registration is now open for the 2025 season. We are excited to be hosting both level 1 and level 2 umpire clinics on Saturday, April 26th in St. Catharines.

Reminder that registration for the 2025 Softball Canada Blue Convention in Calgary is still open. All umpires are welcome and encouraged to attend this great event. Registration and more info can be found here

Blue Convention The Blue Convention is a major event for umpires organized by Softball Canada every three years. Officials of ALL levels from across the country (and internationally) meet to discuss a variety of topics and participate in a series of workshops to learn and improve their umpiring skills.

The Niagara Softball Umpires Association is sad to report on the passing of a dear friend Bian Melish. Brian was responsible for getting several of our fastpitch umpires into the slo-pitch game. Brian's patience, calm demanour, and happy attitude will never be forgotten.

Congratulations to all the 2023, and 2024 Softball Ontario Fastpitch Umpire award winners. The work you do for the program and the sport of softball is greatly appreciated. Special shoutout to Joe Wiley, one of our great up-and-coming local umpires.

The Niagara Softball Umpires Association is hosting a level 3 clinic October 26-27, in St. Catharines. Please send this to all eligible umpires. This is a combined FP, and SP clinic, with proper breakout sessions, participants will only get credit for one discipline. Registration is done through the Softball Ontario website, here.
