This year's 12 Mile Creek Half Marathon & 7K carries Don's name, and there's no one more deserving of it.

For over 30 years, Don was a fixture of the St. Catharines Road Runners and Walkers, rarely missing a weekly group run or walk. Don raced all over Hamilton, Niagara and Western New York, completed Around the Bay in Hamilton more times than we can count, and finished five marathons including Dublin and Big Sur.

But the one he never missed was the 12 Mile Creek Half, right here at home.

If you ran with Don McMaster, you knew the hat before you knew anything else. That unmistakable rainbow cap was as much a part of the trail as the trail itself. Don wore it with the same joy he brought to everything.

Tomorrow, as you line up at the start line, know that we are running for Don 💛

The Don McMaster Memorial 12 Mile Creek Trail Half Marathon & 7K is almost here.

Here's how to set yourself up for a great morning:

Carpool if you can, parking is limited
Bring a lawn chair to settle in before and after
Arrive at least 30 minutes before your start
Bib pickup is right near the start line

Start times:
🕢 7:30 a.m. - Half marathon walkers
🕘 9:00 a.m. - Half marathon runners
🕤 9:30 a.m. - 7K runners
🏆 11:00 a.m. - Awards ceremony
