2010 Boys came back from Toronto this weekend going 1-2 and had the opportunity to catch at Brock.

Big Congratulations to our jack of all trades Blake Penner on his recent commitment to the University of Regina!

Blake came to our program in 2024/2025 as a post-grad athlete looking to play at the USPORT level. After a stellar high school career at Dakota Collegiate he continued to prove himself with us as a high character, hard working and intelligent athlete who plays at a high level on both sides of the ball.

Blake was often used to guard the other team's best player, he is a physical and active defender who is able to disrupt the flow of the basketball and causes opposing teams distress with his relentless effort.

Offensively, Blake has great size and can facilitate your offence while being a threat from the 3 point line. Many of his skills are transferable to the next level.

Much of Blake’s confidence will come in the consistency at which he shows up. We’re confident he will be a massive addition to Coach Steve Burrows and his Cougars basketball program.

Congratulations Blake, the risk you took and the patience you took in making this decision will allow you to shine in basketball and whatever you choose beyond that!

Congrats to James Lawton who is moving on to the U Sports level after his commitment to the Brock University Badgers program!

James played at St. John’s Ravenscourt for high school and his coaches quickly noticed that he had the ability to play in a club or prep league.

James' natural athletic ability allowed him to quickly become a valuable member of the Ignite Academy team for the past two years.

James is able to learn and apply complex systems and has a natural ability to finish around the rim. He is an impressive rebounder and is able to gain second possessions for his team.

A feisty presence in the paint, James is long, mobile and has the ability to contest and alter opponents’ shots. In the North Pole Hoops championship run this season, his ability to make big blocks, pull down rebounds, and run the floor with speed were impressive, to say the least.

James is a natural talent with the work ethic to take his game to the next level of competition.
