Dunai Dance Ensemble - St. Catharines

It's almost time for our End of Year Recital!

We invite family and friends to join us on Sunday, June 14 at St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church in St. Catharines for light refreshments and performances from all our dancers.

Show begins at 12pm, arrive early for seating (we had a full house last year). Doors open at 11:30am.

We're nearing the end of our dance season but we still have a few more practices and performances to go.

Interested in signing your child up for Ukrainian dancing and joining Dunai Dance Ensemble?

Registration begins in late August for the 2026/2027 season - keep an eye out later this summer for details.

We welcome dancers from age 5+ and invite our new dancers to try their first two classes for free in Sept. to see if our classes are right for you.

Earlier this month our Intermediate and Senior dancers performed for the Ukrainian Youth Association - CYM St. Catharines Plenum Banquet at St. John the Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church.

At the start of the evening, our Senior A & B dancers performed the traditional "Pryvit" dance to welcome all the guests for the evening. The dance features costumes, steps, and music from different regions of Ukraine and is complete with the presentation of the korovai wishing blessings and prosperity to all those in attendance.

During dinner, our Intermediates performed "Bavynka". In this dance the girls play together through lively steps, playful formations and spirited fun.

Did you miss our performances this month? You're in luck, the Dunai Dancers will be performing their End of Year Recital on Sunday, June 14 at St. George's Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Reminder: There is NO practice tonight due to the Victoria Day long weekend.

Catch our Junior, Intermediate, and Senior dancers performing today at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church's Praznyk. We look forward to sharing our dances with the church parishioners and Dunai families.

We'll see all our dancers back on Sunday, May 24 for regular practice.

A huge congratulations to our dancers on their first major performance weekend at the Niagara Folk Arts Festival (Bridges Niagara Immigrant and Refugee Services) this past Saturday, May 9. We performed two shows to a full house and could not be more proud of our dancers. It's an honour to share our culture with the community.

We'd like to give a special thank you to St. John the Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church for hosting the Open House, inviting us to perform, and supporting our dance group!
