Peter Dormody will be stepping up as Captain this year, in his third season with Regiment. He has expanded his role every season, becoming one of our most versatile and dependable pieces. Despite his young age, everyone on Regiment looks up to Peter as a cool and collected player, and a strategic leader. Peter brings experience from captaining the Memorial University Seahawks program, as well as Storm Juniors as a captain, and then as a coach!

Peter sets the standard among his peers for high-performance in the sport. He doesn’t miss an opportunity to play or train, and is always looking for ways to improve his game. He is a natural leader, quick to speak up in the right moments and to lead by example with his character and discipline.

First-time Captain Brody McKeown has long been a part of the program, and is making a big move into leadership this year! Brody sets the tone with his hard work and consistency, and is always good for a few big plays every game that will fire up the boys.

Brody is a champion of Spirit of the Game, always leaving an impression on his teammates and opponents as a quality guy who always brings his best to the field. He will add a lot to our leadership team with his strong management skills, and the way that he embodies Newfoundland and Regiment culture.

Introducing Dave Whitney-Brown, a steady veteran leader who’s got more playing experience than the rest of our team combined. After a few years living in Labrador, Dave has finally made the move to the big city and will be a part of the team full-time.

Dave is a student of the game and has a deep understanding of Ultimate strategy that he looks to pass on to our young roster. He is a leader on the field, organizing our structure and keeping the team focused. His field vision and throwing technique allows him to create something out of nothing, while not putting possession at risk. He’s a great guy to have on the line but also a key piece of team culture and leadership!

Returning for another year as Spirit Captain, we present Joe Sismondo! After winning a CUC Spirit title last year in Edmonton, he looks to continue advancing Regiment’s reputation for Spirit of the Game, and making sure that the Regiment player experience is fun, friendly, and full of opportunities for growth.

Joe is widely recognized for the integrity and sportsmanship that he shows on and off the field. From firing the boys up with raucous cheers to leading the team’s party efforts, Joe is at the centre of all things Regiment and we’re excited for another year of good times and good Ultimate!

Before we get to our 2026 leadership announcements, we wanted to make a post recognizing the legacy of one of our outgoing captains, Nick House. Nick founded Regiment in 2016, aiming to create more competitive playing opportunities for male-matching players in the province. Under Nick’s leadership, Regiment has consistently punched above its weight, produced countless top-level talents, and maintained a reputation as one of the most spirited teams in the country.

Nick’s skills and dedication have proved invaluable, building partnerships in the community and structuring the program for long-term success. We now have a coaching team, strong finances, connections all over the city for practice fields, sponsorships, and more. These things didn’t materialize out of thin air; they are the result of Nick’s leadership over the last ten years.

Nick will continue as a player on Regiment, but is passing the leadership torch. We will continue the same vision that Regiment was founded on all of those years ago: Inclusivity, a high-performance focus, and Spirit of the Game above all else.

In addition to Regiment, Nick will be attending World Masters Ultimate Championships with Dead Circus this summer, a bucket list accomplishment for any Ultimate player. He’s a key part of their D-line and will be matching up against some of the world’s best!
