We’re hyped for the expansion of our hip hop programming! 🔥

Dancers can now join First City Crews - and the best part? No audition required.

As a non-competitive school, our focus remains on the culture, artistry, and community of hip hop. First City Crews provide additional performance opportunities for dancers who want to deepen their training, collaborate as a team, and experience the joy of sharing their work with an audience—without the pressure of competition.

All you need is:
• Registration in at least one hip hop class per week
• A commitment to attending crew rehearsals regularly

Interested in learning more? Head to the Performance tab on our website for all the details. We can’t wait to see our crews grow this season! 💥🖤

This is a longer than usual reel and post but worth sharing for many reasons.

It goes without saying that there were so many memorable moments at our year-end shows this weekend, but one truly stands out to me.

If you’ve ever believed that it’s never too late to start something new—or to rekindle a childhood passion—this beautiful group is living proof.

For the first time, our Adult Beginner/Intermediate Ballet class took the stage together. With Sarah Power’s thoughtful guidance, encouragement, and nurturing teaching, they gained the confidence to perform in front of an audience.

They reminded us that artistry doesn’t have an expiration date and joy doesn’t have an age limit.

Thank you, dancers, for inspiring all of us and for reminding us that dance belongs to everyone. 💙🩰✨

It’s our Year-End Show Weekend, and it’s going to be busy, exciting, and full of incredible performances! ✨

Our first show takes place tonight Friday, June 12 at 7:00 PM. ‘Where Movement Lives features dancers from our Level 3 classes through to our adult programs, showcasing the talent, artistry, and dedication of our intermediate, advanced, and adult dancers.

Then tomorrow Saturday, June 13, our youngest performers take the stage! Join us at 1:30 PM to celebrate our Quispamsis location dancers, ages 3–10 years, from our Creative classes through to Level 2.

At 4:00 PM, it’s our Saint John location’s turn to shine as those dancers take the stage for their special performance.

All performances are at the Imperial Theatre.

Families, please double-check the Parent Portal and your email for all recital details, including arrival times, backstage information, and any final reminders.

We can’t wait to celebrate all of our dancers and the hard work they’ve put in throughout the year.

No teacher dancing the choreography in the wings or from the side of the stage.

Smart choreography for young dancers means using the music to your advantage, creating clear ideas that match the score, and building a storyline dancers can follow. When children understand the “why” behind the movement, they are more confident, independent, and successful on stage.

Dance education is about so much more than teaching steps. It’s about developing musicality, memory, problem-solving skills, artistry, and the confidence to perform on their own.
