🎾 Tennis & Pickleball Courts Are Now Open for the Season! 🏓

Windscreens will be installed in the near future.

Court Access & Booking
• Courts are available on a first come, first served basis.
• Prefer to reserve a time? Online bookings are now available for a small fee: https://saintjohn.ca/en/parks-and-recreation/sports-fields-and-courts
• Please note: Online bookings include a 7‑day hold and must be approved by staff before they are confirmed.
• Bookings can also be made by emailing Darrell Fountain at [email protected].
• When no bookings are scheduled, the courts are open for free play.

Hours of Operation: Open daily from 8:30 AM to dusk.

Grab your paddle or racquet, rally your friends, and swing by the courts for some outdoor fun!

The dates have been set for the On and Off Court Summer Tennis League. Join us for June with informal play in May:)

5 courts booked. 6:30-8:00pm. Play to start June 4. There are 24 spots available at the $65 rate for 8 weeks. The final Thursday is a men's and women’s double championship. Prizes each week!! On and Off Court will supply the tennis balls this year! Our weather night is Monday.

Looking for a fun, active summer for your kids? Our 8‑week tennis program is designed for kids & teens ages 5–17 who want to learn tennis in a new, FUN, and interactive way using 🎾 right‑sized racquets, slower balls, and modified nets!
Tennis helps kids build teamwork, dedication, confidence, and offers amazing physical and social benefits too!

🏆 What’s Included?
✅ Up to 40 hours of interactive tennis instruction
✅ Daily lessons (once per day, Monday–Friday for 8 weeks – weather permitting
✅ Optional high‑performance training & team tennis (fee TBD)
✅ LOTS of FUN!! 😄🎾

June 29 – August 21

Daily Class Times by Age Group:
👶 Ages 5–6: 9:00–10:00 AM
🧒 Ages 7–8: 10:00–11:00 AM
👦 Ages 9–10: 11:00 AM–12:00 Noon
🧑 Ages 11–13: 1:00–2:30 PM
🧑‍🎓 Ages 14–17: 2:30–4:00 PM
❗ Classes are cancelled when it rains.

It was nice to see the article on CBC today highlighting the city's focus on revamping key areas of need including the tennis courts at Shamrock Park. We met with the city a few weeks ago to express concern over court conditions and the need to upgrade for safety and they genuinely listened.

They plan on doing work starting in the Spring to understand if they can resurface OR completely redo the courts. More updates to come in 2026. 🎾☀️
