Hi Everybody,
On Tuesday, June 16th we had our last class for this Judo Season and what a night it was. We had a lot to celebrate this season!
We started off welcoming our VIP's, Carrie and John. Carrie and John were the founders of the Kiyokan Judo Club.
Then Mateo, playing the violin, accompanied by singers Maria Scammell and Ronni Kinsella started our festivities with O'Canada.
Next was the Kiyokan World Judo Championships where we saw some amazing competition.

Beatrix Chedore
Sam O'Toole
Juliet Rocca
Theo Vail
Simon Belding
Ben Tobin
Ronni Kinsella
Fletcher Chenhall
Nico Rocca
Connor Brideau
Next we passsed out grading certificates. We had 32 students who advanced to their new belt levels! Well done!
Then it was time to pass out some awards:
Outstanding Tiger Award - Octavia Cooper
Most Improved Student - Olivia Lowther

Most Promising Female- Juliet Rocca
Best Competitor- Mateo Bregel
Kiyokan Award - Theo Vail
Kano Award- Martine and Billy Chenhall
And finally we ended the night by celebrating with my homemade pizza that came in Domino's pizza boxes.
Now some Thank You's!
Thank you to all our volunteer instructors. I believe the Kiyokan Judo Club offers judo classes second to none because of you!
Parents and others who are responsible for getting the students to class - Thank you!
Students you made this year very rewarding for the Instructors. Your commitment and energy made it easy for us to stay motivated and look forward to attending the classes.
I would like to thank everybody who helped out this year. Your assistance makes the Club the success it is!
Shavon, thank you for being our Social Media person. You do an amazing job!
There is a saying that a picture is worth a thousand words. So I will sign off with a picture instead of my thousand words to illustrate what a great group we have at the Kiyokan Judo Club!
See you in September!

How cute are our youngest Judoka’s from the Kiyokan Judo Club?!?! These cuties competed last weekend at the Shimpokai Regional Kids Tournament. Did you know that even if you are a white belt you can still compete in competitions?
These youth trained really hard and they didn’t disappoint! Remember, today’s youth are tomorrow’s future and at Kiyokan Judo Club, we understand that by building up our youth we are setting them up for success in the future.
As always, like, share, and tag our photos. That’s how you help our club grow.
