The outgoing board is very proud of the work done over the last year and is excited to report to the league members at our Annual General Meeting from 8:30 - 9:30pm at Little Mountain Field House on Thursday, June 26th. Come out to hear what we have been up to and take an active role in supporting our non-profit and volunteer operated soccer league.

Please note you can run for any position but we are specifically looking for:

📌 Vice President - assists the President with tasks and acts when the President is not available.

📌 Field and Ref Assignor - coordinating with Salmon Arm Recreation and SYSA to ensure officials and fields are booked and operational.

📌 Members at Large - various levels of commitment but willing to attend board meetings and assist with tasks and sub-committees, as needed.

Our fall mini-season is now open for registration! Games will take place Thursday evenings at 6pm, Sept. 5th, 19th, and 26th on Little Mountain Field 1. We have the possibility of extending the season into October, so stay tuned for additional game nights!

Attention all registered players for the spring outdoor season!

The City of Salmon Arm has opened the Little Mountain playing fields earlier than expected. We are taking this opportunity to extend our playing season and give you the option to dust off some winter cobwebs or brush up on your soccer skills.

We will be hosting an OPTIONAL Skills & Drills session this Thursday, April 18th open to all players registered in the spring outdoor session at no additional cost and signups are not required. Check your email for more details.

Can't join us this Thursday? Don't worry! We will start our regular season of play as scheduled, on Thursday, April 25th where you will receive your jersey, meet your team, and play a shortened game.

The latest information regarding the indoor arena from the City of Salmon Arm. We will try to keep our members posted regarding community engagement opportunities as the information becomes available.

🏗️ Important Community Update 🏗️

The Detailed Structural Assessment for the Memorial Arena is now complete. Unfortunately, the building cannot be occupied in its current state. While the City hasn't finalized its decision on the arena's future and is awaiting the completion of a Lifecycle Analysis, we recognize its importance to the community and want to ensure you have the most up to date information. The City will be engaging the community in discussions about facilities and encourage you to participate.

Now is the time to register for the SWRSA spring outdoor season, which is scheduled to begin 4 weeks from today as long as fields are open! We play every Thursday evening for 10 weeks.

Want to get outside, meet new people, and get some exercise? We would love to have you join us! New players and players of all skill levels are welcome!

Note: April 25 is designated as jersey pick-up/meet and greet your team. IF the city has opened the fields by then we will combine that with skills and drills with an introduction to the rules of play.

Fees are $125 per person. Our league is committed to making soccer accessible to everyone, so if you need help paying your fees please reach out regarding our assistance options.

We are aware of the notice from the City of Salmon Arm but we are staying positive about us being able to complete our fall indoor session. We will keep you posted on any changes.

Public Notice: Out of an abundance of caution, the SASCU Indoor Memorial Sports Complex, located at 351 3rd Street SW, will be closed effective the first snowfall of the winter.

A preliminary engineering study has been completed on the facility, and a further detailed report is being commissioned; however, there were significant concerns raised regarding the structural integrity of the building when there is a snowpack on the roof.

Specifically, the report stated that the existing roof does not currently have sufficient capacity to support the current design snow loading and it is recommended that the overall snow loading on the building should be limited while it remains in use until a complete structural analysis of the building can be completed. It further noted that the removal of snow from existing roofs can be a difficult and costly process to complete.

Under these circumstances, it is not financially or operationally viable to keep the facility open when there is snow on the roof. The overall safety and well-being of the users of our facilities is, and will always be, the priority of the City and the Shuswap Recreation Society.

We recognize the significant impact that this decision will have on our community organizations. We are committed to working together with impacted groups to find the best available alternatives to support their continued operation. The City will be issuing a Request for Proposals to begin the next stages of the detailed structural review of the facility in the coming weeks. An update will be provided when more information is available.
