Such a common question I get asked all of the time.
In my opinion, the best diet for fat loss will be the one you can best adhere to. What does this mean? It simply means picking the diet that will feel the easiest for you.
Whether you decide to go the approach of low carb, low fat, keto, plant based etc, YOU WILL NEED TO BE IN A CALORIE DEFICIT. I cannot stress this enough. In order to lose fat you will have to practice some form of restriction.
But YOU should choose the form of restriction that feels the least restrictive for YOU.

Your efforts towards your health and fitness should not be sporadic and fleeting. You will never see results this way.
Instead, our health and fitness goals and efforts should be focused on how to achieve long term success.
If we are constantly looking for instant gratification and quick fixes we will end up going in circles.
Long lasting results take time, consistency, dedication, flexibility and patience.

Sometimes, the biggest thing getting in the way of our goals is our own mindset.
Instead of thinking of your health and wellness goals as either black and white or fixed and rigid, remember that you are in this for the long haul. This isn’t a quick three month “fix”. This is about developing healthier habits that will lead to a happier and healthier life. Healthier habits that will increase your life span and help reduce your risk for certain diseases.
Remember to be graceful and patient with yourself as you embark on this new journey. It’s not about perfection. It’s about consistency, showing up for yourself and remembering to keep moving forward.

I will preach this over and over again. Consistency is and ALWAYS will be key 🔑.
We all have days where we don’t feel 100% and days where we really don’t have the motivation to get to the gym. The problem with motivation is that it will always come and go. The difference between those who succeed and those who don’t, is that they know they cannot solely rely upon motivation to reach their goals. They are consistent. Day in and day out. Even when they’re tired or aren’t feeling their best. They don’t make excuses. They get it done regardless because they are consistent.
Being consistent doesn’t mean going all in every single day. Consistency means continually making steps forward to reaching your goal each and every day. Small steps or big steps, they all add up in the end.
Do you need help reaching your fitness goals and don’t know where to start? Shoot me a message and let’s get started!

Exercise is not a punishment.
You don't exercise to punish yourself for eating.
You exercise because it's good for you.
You exercise because it's going to improve your quality of life.
You exercise because it's going to allow you to live a longer, happier and healthier life.
You exercise because it sets a good example for your children.
You exercise because it makes you proud of yourself.
You exercise because it's important to remind yourself that you can do hard things.
You exercise because it's the right thing to do, even when you don't always feel like doing it.
Exercise is not a punishment. So stop acting like it is.
Food is not a reward for punishing yourself with exercise.
You are allowed to eat even if you didn't exercise.
Eat to make your body feel better.
Eat to help you think better.
Eat to set a good example for your children.
Eat to celebrate life, family, holidays, culture and successes.
Eat to fuel your mind, body and soul.
Stop viewing the ability to move and nourish your body as punishment. You don't realize how lucky you are to be able to do so.

If you're fed up with having to diet on extremely restrictive calories, than a reverse diet is a MUST. Reverse dieting is all about GRADUALLY increasing calories and SLOWLY backing down on cardio to correct the metabolic adaptation that occurs through extreme caloric restriction.
Important things to keep in mind while Reverse Dieting:
1) Time - Time is essential for an effective reverse diet. If you have spent months or even longer restricting your calories you can't expect your metabolism to be corrected after a few months.
2) Don't fear the number on the scale - So many people back out of their reverse diet as soon as they see the number on the scale start to creep up. This is NORMAL. If you find you are gaining weight too quickly, you can slightly reduce your calorie increase or stay where you are until your weight settles out, which it will.
3) Delayed Gratification - Stop sacrificing what you want most for what you want right now. Change takes time! If you don't give your body and your mind a break from dieting, you will continue to spin your tires and will fail to see the progress you want to see.

You step on the scale, look down at the number and immediately your stomach drops a little and you feel defeated. I’ve been there, time and time again. Isn’t it wild how we let a number influence not only how we feel about ourselves but our whole mood the rest of the day? The scale can definitely be used to track progress, but it is not the be all end all. Our weight can remain the same while undergoing major body composition changes and the number on the scale doesn’t reflect that. If you want a more accurate picture of your progress, you should include measurements and progress pictures. Smart scales can be extremely useful to help not only track your weight, but also things like subcutaneous fat, visceral fat, bone mass, muscle mass, body water %, BMR and much more. I highly recommend the DARA scale from . It’s Bluetooth and incredible easy to use. This helps give me more of an understanding of how my weight and body changes as I continue into my reverse diet. Remember, getting in shape and being active shouldn’t just be about the physical. It’s important to remember all the benefits for your health, both mental and physical and for your longevity!
