Well folks! September 24th was the biggest Run Your Junk race yet with 39 cars entered!

Practice laps were my first ever on the track, followed by the chance to start first row outside in my heat. By the end I was running faster laps, moving up through the field and gaining ground.

Heat two a car slid up into me and spun me out. I was able to save it enough that I only made light contact with the wall. Craig Heintz Kenny Heintz and Al got the right front toe out it caused fixed with plenty of time to spare.

The feature was a wild experience with 39 cars lined up to run! I got spun out lap 1 in corner 2 as a nice little welcome to the race present from Mike. A full 360 later and away i went. The chaos and carnage saw us run for over an hour but they reduced the race to 35 green flag laps. I was spun out a ton of times, and even put into both the outside and inside walls of the track a few times each! I made it up to at least 14th and was making steady forward progress when the right front spindle broke leaving me a sitting duck. After a hard shot from behind put me into the inside wall, and we realized the spindle was in fact broken, our race day was done! Ultimately we ended up finishing 21st by the end of the race.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported my little racing adventure… I could not have done it without you and can’t wait to do it again! I even impressed my husband and only gave him a dozen mini heart attacks while out there!

GUESS WHAT?!

Well folks it’s been a hot minute since our last race but hold onto your hats because Da Boyz Racing is back on Sunday with a little something new!! Christine Heintz will be driving in Sundays Run Your Junk at Sutherland Automotive Speedway. You read that right… the newly married Mrs. Darkside has decided to try her hand behind the wheel while her husband hangs back in the pits.

Since I’m certainly not known for my driving skills… we’re selling some “Warning Sign” stickers that will be stuck on to the car. For $15 i’ll put your name on one, but for $20 I’ll put your best criticism of my driving (see one of Kenny’s favourite below and don’t hold back 😂).

IT’S RACE DAY!!

Hard to believe it’s our final race of the season out at Sutherland Automotive Speedway.

It’s been a great season and we’re excited to push for a checkered flag finish today. Racing starts at 2pm but head over anytime!

it’s a jam packed afternoon of racing with a 5 class lineup for the points final. Late models, Bandoleros, Street Stocks, Sportsmans and Legends are all out to finish off their season.

We’re going Friday night racing tonight. That’s right. FRIDAY NIGHT! Come out to the track anytime, or for a 7pm green flag drop. Tonight we have mini stocks, legends, pro trucks and pro late models.

It’s the kick off to Rock 102 Show and Shine weekend, so whether you’re lake-bound tomorrow or staying in the city for the show, make sure to spend your Friday night out at Sutherland Automotive Speedway.

It’s a nice hot night, the car is running fast, and we’re aiming for a checkered flag 🏁.

August 6 2022 - Race #4

We went racing in the inaugural Bridge City 200 on a great night at Sutherland Automotive Speedway! We’re a little behind schedule making this post, but we have good reason… I guess the now fiancé got a little distracted from her typical race team duties when our driver proposed a few days later 💍🍾 (obviously, she said yes)!

We had a decent day on the track, however, it was an extremely rocky start. Practice #1 the car was drivable but nothing special… Practice #2 it became apparent we had clutch issues (cue the first round of work). We pushed the car to pre-qualifying tech thinking we were good to go, but sadly more clutch issues popped up as soon as it left tech (cue round two of work). Thankfully, Trevor Emond had a spare clutch assembly waiting to be used and sent it our way.

We missed qualifying and our heat, but managed to get the car ready in time for the second heat. Not knowing how the car would perform, we ended up starting at the back of the fast heat and finishing 7th. In the feature, we fought our way up to 5th, but ended the race in 11th (still on the lead lap) after spinning out rushing to a restart and over driving the car. Congrats to Tyler, Jared and Kevin on finishing 1 through 3 in the big $10,000 TO WIN | Bridge City 200 Race Event

We’re doing some prep for the car to ensure it’s in tiptop shape and are excited to race this Friday! We hope to see you there!

Tonight 17 of us are battling it out on the track in 200 laps for 10,000 and the chance to win the $10,000 TO WIN | Bridge City 200 Race Event.

July 26, 2022 - Race #3

We went Tuesday Night Racing on a great night at Sutherland Automotive Speedway.

We had a great day, finishing 2nd in the first heat race, 3rd in the second heat race, and 4th in the feature. Finally got things tuned in and the car had some speed. We had some great battles with with our closest friends and fiercest competitors Matthew Shirley and Big D Racing. Huge congrats to Matt on his feature win Tuesday and his Nascar Pinty Series debut Wednesday. A huge congrats to Kevin Dyck on his wedding to Desi Dyck (and picking our driver as “the best” best man).

We’re doing some fine tuning and prep for the car and are excited to see everyone August 6th for the Bridge City 200! We’re also working on some new merch, stay tuned for the design reveal TONIGHT and your chance to order.

Ladies and gents we’re going racing tonight on a TUESDAY at Sutherland Automotive Speedway 7pm.

June 18, 2022 - Race #2

Saturday was an absolute scorcher at 32 degrees as we did our best to keep the driver, crew and car from burning up.

We started the day fairly strong qualifying P5. We followed that up by finishing P5 in our heat race.

The feature was a gruelling 150 laps that ran green flag the whole way… crazy! We started good, making forward progress from 10th to 7th. After that, the car faded a little and the track got slick with a few cars leaking oil. We had a few good battles but ended up with a P7 feature finish. Our driver had a blast wheeling it out there though!

We’ve got a nice 5-week break to fine tune the car and prepare for our third race of the season. We’re also working on some new merch, so stay tuned for information on that!

Season Opener - Sutherland Automotive Speedway:

The crew looked great, the car looked great, the driver was ready and the weather held out… unfortunately, the car was just a handful last night.

Kenny spent the whole night fighting for every inch he got. It was a long night for our driver who felt like he couldn’t find grip anywhere on the track.

Some adjustments and swapping out a tire through the night did lead to a P7 feature race finish. We have a good three weeks to fine tune and adjust for the next race of the season, and we’ll be ready!
