Day 5 - Friday
Today the Selects played ON1 - Rostock and the defending champions, Tavistock Athletics.
There were a lot of great things happening on the diamonds for us, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to pull off a win today.
The Selects are officially out of playoffs at the 2023 Nationals, but have one more game tomorrow for consolation.
After the second game, lots of the boys made their way to the hospital to spend some time with their teammate. It was a pick me up that everyone needed.

Day 4 - Thursday
Well...when it rains it pours. Unfortunately, the Selects are experiencing that both figuratively, and literally this week.
In our first game, the boys had a heartbreaker loss to Quebec in the bottom of the 7th. It was definitely one of the better games we played this week.
Our second game was loooong, due to a rain delay, and a not so nice score vs the host, Napanee.
It's been a tough week and is truly a test of character for these guys.
On a more positive note, our injured player's mom arrived yesterday from Saskatoon to be with her son. On a not so positive note, he is still awaiting surgery....but, he does finally have a room, so there is progress being made!

Day 3.
New day, fresh start. Spirits are high.
Selects @ Quebec right now (230 EST, 1230 SK).
Selects @ Napanee at 630 EST, 430 SK.

Rough day at the diamonds...in more ways than 1.
The Selects came out with a 0-2 record on day 2. The boys have a battle ahead, but are more than capable of turning things around and coming out strong.
Unfortunately, we had a couple of scary injuries in our last game that dampened the spirits of the boys, and our fans. The last 2 pictures show the severity of the 2nd one...the first picture is on the way to the hospital (badly broken leg), and the second one is his mom (on the phone) talking to the boys, as they were all very shaken up. Please keep his family, and our Selects family, in your thoughts.
Day 3, we play at 230 pm EST (1230pm SK) vs Quebec and 630 pm EST (430pm SK) vs the host, Napanee.
Tonight is a re-group for the boys and a time to reflect on today.
Tomorrow is another day and we are absolutely ready to be on the winning side of things. They are fired up to win some games for our guy

A couple of our boys were given the honour of being ‘bat boy’ this week during Canadians!
Nate is representing U20 Saskatoon Selects 2023 and Jackson, Team Quebec!
Both ending the day with some well deserved poutines!

The Selects play 2 games today.
Game 1 vs ON2 - Haldimand Heat at 1130 EST (930 am Sk time).
Game 2 @ SK2 - Rosebud Jr Royals (Wadena) at 5 pm EST (3 pm Sk time).
