ATHLETES IN THE SPOTLIGHT | JACOB

A new face is stepping onto the competition floor. Making his YXE First Responders Fitness Festival debut, Jacob will be representing Team Paramedics and bringing a mindset built around growth, challenge, and perseverance.

Jacob chose to compete because he believes growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone. For him, the FRFF is an opportunity to challenge himself both mentally and physically while discovering just how far he can push his own limits.

When things get difficult, it's the people around him who keep him moving forward. Seeing others face their own challenges inspires him to confront his own. He believes this competition represents something bigger, a reminder of the resilience people show every day, whether they're overcoming physical challenges, difficult moments, or working toward a healthier life.
And when it’s time to recover after a tough workout? Jacob keeps it simple with a classic favourite, chocolate milk.

First year competing, but already bringing the mindset of someone who understands the challenge. Jacob is ready to step onto the floor and see what he's capable of.

ATHLETES IN THE SPOTLIGHT | SEAN

A familiar face is making his return to the competition floor.

Sean has been part of the YXE First Responders Fitness Festival journey since the very beginning, supporting the event from Day 1 and helping build the foundation of what FRFF has become. After taking a few years away from competition, Sean is making his comeback returning stronger, ready to compete, and representing Team Police once again!

For Sean, the FRFF is about more than just the challenge. It's about the community, supporting a great cause, and sharing the experience with fellow first responders while taking on a fun and demanding obstacle course.

Outside of work and training, Sean has a passion for spearfishing. From exploring waters in Costa Rica, Indonesia, and British Columbia to finding opportunities right here in Saskatchewan, he loves the adventure and challenge that comes with the sport.

When it's time to refuel, Sean keeps it classic with his favourite snack, peanut butter banana toast. 🍌
