Lost in the 10th inning to Unity 7-6 (that’s 3 extra innings).

Was 6-6 from the 6th inning on.

Nicholas Enns and Devin Gerwing absolutely studded it up on the mound. All our pitchers did awesome this weekend.

Kalen Senecal hits a game tying bomb to make it 4-4, before we made it 6-4, and then 6-6 until it was over.

Not much else to say. Played good. Beat them 7-4 this morning, just couldn’t find the bounces in the one that mattered.

Great group of guys, awesome weekend, and hoping our group still has many more of these left!

Won 7-4 on a complete game dialfest from Logan Fast. Who coulda saw that coming….😏

Another home run for Big Diesel Devin Gerwing, making it 3 for the tournament lead.

Travis Mayan also gets his first career dinger with the Sox, after literally being nicknamed “Mr. Single” last night.

Provincial Final will see Nicholas Enns on the raised ant hill 60 and a half feet from home plate. Boys will try their best to repeat. Stay tuned.

Big win last night against Gull Lake, putting the boys at 2-1, and playing Unity at 12:00 today. Win, and we’re in the final. Lose, and she’s all over.

Nicholas Enns made his weekend debut and pitched 3 shutout. By then the boys had a 10-0 lead, the bats were hot, so naturally we chucked our innings eater, Jordan Wouters. Guy is always hungry for innings, and closes it out to keep the shut out.

Devin Gerwing hits another home run, and Travis Mayan hits a couple off the top of the fence. If the boys keep this up, we should be in good shape.

Logan Fast will take the bump, let’s see if we can get an encore

Lost 4-3 in extras against Redvers. They made some really timely diving plays with loaded bags, and just didn’t get the bounces we needed.

Some awesome pitching, kinda of the dialfest variety by Tyrell Nicklen and Devin Gerwing. Can’t ask for more than they gave, especially since the guy pitching for the other side apparently was on the Canadian junior national team and pitched div 1. Honestly, our guys kept pace… but maybe I’m biased.

We go again tonight at 6:00 vs the host Gull Lake. A win puts us in a nice spot… a loss would be arguably potentially quite possibly detrimental. Let’s hope for the former.

Did a bad job of keeping the page active after saying we would. A whoopsie for sure.

Lost the playoff series against the Thunder. They showed why they finished 1st and won the league last year. We also sandbagged some pitching, because provincials is this weekend in Gull Lake, and what a hot start it’s been.

Big 6-0 win on the back of some how she going from Logan Fast on the bump for the first three innings, followed by some prettttty good and you from Big Diesel Devin for the last 4.

Defence was great, error free with a couple double plays. Baserunning was electric with some great sends and slides, both things very out of character for the Sox.

Bats were good, prob anchored by the home run by Big Diesel, but also some other good at bats throughout.

Play at 9am against Redvers, so far the big dance is going well, thinking we like it, thinking we’ll stay for awhile🤷🏻‍♂️

Little season update as I know the page has been dormant this season.

We started the season 0-4 as per usual, then 1-5, and then eventually like most seasons we play our way into shape, remember how our retinas work, start seeing the ball at the plate and the bats get hot in July. We ended up finishing 4th in regular season standings in the A division of the SMBL.

Our first playoff round was last Wednesday and we won 2 straight to take the series, mercy’ing the 2nd game.

The semi finals go tonight 6:30 and 8:30 at mocon field out at Martinsville. This is against the 1st place/defending champs, Thunder. Their Gerwing’s are better, they have a couple collage players, but we have some top tier senior hockey players so should be a tight match up. We will likely have to sand bag some pitching with provincials happening this coming weekend in Gull Lake, where we look to defend our title. Will try to keep this page active for a week.

A few player recaps for the season.

Adam Osczevski and Travis Mayan hit way more in baseball then they do in hockey. Both guys are now confirmed as multi sport athletes.

Devin Gerwing led the team with 2 home runs, and in innings pitched, followed closely by team innings eater Jordan Wouters.

Kalen Senecal and Shayne Hayward led the team in games missed due to being out of province/country/continent.

Tyrell Pompu led the team in ground balls rifled to 1st even when not needed from the left side of the infield, and also set the franchise record for shortest bat ever used, as the guy pulled out a 31 inch bat for a couple games.

Tyrell Nicklen led in a variety of hitting categories. Also leads the team in leaving his jersey at home, or hat, or anything else he needs to play ball. Might also lead the team in physical ability, so it evens out.

Maury Ruether still the biggest glue guy the SMBL has ever seen. Nicholas Bouey refound use of his legs on the base paths, and confirms his quads are “no longer cooked”.

Nicholas Enns and Logan Fast driving in from 3 hours away didn’t make many games, but when they did they can still absolutely bring it. Let’s hope they’ve been doing some bullpen sessions leading up to provincials.

Tyler Jones and newcomer Alex Osczevski stud it up defensively, and other newcomer Justin Wassill led the team in off field hits, and exclamations from the bench while running to first of “holy he’s fast”, ”wait when did he get so fast”, and other iterations of the Red Sox being floored we finally have someone that gets faster the closer they get to first base, instead of already getting slower.

Let’s hope for a strong, fun finish to another great ball season for the Sox!

Had a little case of the provincial hangover as we dropped our playoff game 4-1 last night to the defending 4-time SMBL champions, the Rangers.

This officially marks the end of the Sox season. A great year that saw us win our 2nd provincial title in the last 5 tier 3 provincial tournaments. It also saw us add some more friends to the team and really just have a fun year with a great group.

It’s weird to think that 7 years in, our best years as a team might still be ahead of us, but it sure feels that way with this group. Thanks again to everyone for following along, and see you next year✌️

What a weekend. From post game chicken fights to pregame speeches involving water tosses and unforeseen hype from Adam Osczevski, Macklin was a movie. Feels good to be champs again!

2022 provincial champs!!

The final song of the big dance gets played, and the Sox get dipped and kissed by the sweet sweet nectar of provincial champions.

Lights out on the mound by Logan Fast. The kid always dials it up in the big games.

Hits all over the field, as we mercied the Rockies 12-1. We definitely feel our depth as a team started to show up in the playoffs as other teams started to run out of gas.

Crazy to not shout out the Macklin bar “Bottoms up” as they treated us like champions as we walked in, just check out the pics!!

Overall an amazing weekend and we thank everyone for their continued support!!

Hello Cinderella.

Clock hasn’t struck midnight yet as we still have on our dancing shoes after we mercied Pearl Creek 12-1 in 5 to go to the finals.

Nothing too special to report, solid game everywhere and looking forward to playing against the winner of Macklin and Saskatoon Rockies in the Provincial Final at 3!

Grab the aux and crank it to 10 the dance continues baby tap tap let’s polka

Renew your landline absolute dialfest by big diesel Devin. Guy also hits the game winning sac fly for the Sox to take it 3-2 against the birch hills brewers. Talk about a game.

The boys clinch first place in their pool and now play a crossover tomorrow at 12. Win that and we’re in the final, a place we’ve needed prescription ointment for the last few years cause man we’re itching to get back there.

Stay tuuuuuuned
