TBT - Sensei Matt's Facebook memory from today 7 years ago! It's been a journey and one that is very rewarding if you stick with it.
This is proof that you don't need to start at a very young age to accomplish anything, you're never too old to learn something new and challenge yourself.

Hello karate families. We are hosting a tournament this weekend in Warman at the Traditions Elementary School. We are needing volunteers to help out with scorekeeping for the tournament and we asking for your support. We will run scorekeeping training on Friday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 during the kids clinic. It shouldn't take more than an hour to go through everything. Our older students are also encouraged to help with scorekeeping.
We will need scorekeepers in the morning from 9:00 to noon and in the afternoon from 12:30 to 3:30ish. The times may change slightly due to divisions running a bit faster or slower than anticipated. There will be 2 or 3 people sitting at each scorekeeping table and if you have any questions the center judge will be glad to help you out.
If you are able to volunteer, please talk to one of the senseis on Thursday, comment on this post or just show up on Friday at 6:30 for the clinic. We appreciate your support in making this tournament a success. Thank you.

*** GRADING INFORMATION ***
[Keep in mind not all athletes are eligible for grading to the next belt rank. Reference your "blue" book to see the minimum time frames between ranks.]
More practice (at home and treating KATA practice like daily homework) and attending additional instruction nights/tournaments/clinics can lead to a person advancing "quicker" but is not guaranteed. Learning a martial art is like a marathon and not a sprint, it takes time and effort.
