I think cabin fever has set in for the dogs. I had to confiscate a make shift shive Bazzie made out of his bone, Mia seems to have taken up smoking & Lily has gone right into hibernation mode.

Only a few more sleeps ‘till Christmas; let the games begin.

Just like any year, 2022 was full of change/s for many. For myself, I experienced wins and some heartbreaking 💔 losses. The wins kept me going and losses pushed me (and are still pushing me) to take a personal journey of reflection and gratitude.

As one’s life evolves, change is required. I’ve come to realize that sometimes these changes result in traditions slowly fading away.

As this past holiday season approached, I knew there would moments that would now look differently as a result of life changes. It was through my journey of reflection that I was taken down memory lane of my childhood Christmas’s and dived in to my tickle trunk of keepsakes. Some pretty precious memories and family discussions of traditions unfolded, especially when I started unwrapping all my Christmas keepsakes of handed down (now vintage) tree decorations. Then I questioned myself “why I’m keeping these treasures all tucked alway year after year?”
Yes, they hold meaning in my life because they’ve been handed down from grandparents/parents and have been part of childhood Christmas traditions. But keeping them under wraps doesn’t bring joy or purpose in the present. Then and there I decide that Christmas 2022 would be the year that old and current traditions would blend together to create new memories going forward. And up went all those ornaments that held memories. Memories right from handmade ones made by my grandma to ones the kiddos made. It how it warmed my heart ❤️!

Which leads into the reason of this post. See this crocheted Santa hanging on the tree?, well my nana (grandma) made that. To some it may look tacky but to me, it’s a thing of beauty. And I want to share that beauty with others. With a little reaching I manage to come across a similar pattern so I can start creating my own crochet Santa ornaments that will be gifted to others in 2023.

I’m off to the races now. Just need to add some eyes and I have my test run completed.

Sure enough, no sooner do I start setting up for my photo shoot for the crocheted rag rug I finished awhile back then this happens.... one of the dogs take things over. 😆

It’s always nice to know others adore handmade items as much as me, even if it’s an animal.

Hello all you lovely people!!! It feels like it’s been many a moons ago since I have given you an up date on some of my hand dandy crochet work. So we we go...

Two stash busting crochet blankets have been completed. When the hexagon blanket, or what I like to call “sexy hexes”, got scoop up and made it’s way to it’s forever home; I jump right into making a C2C blanket. I get kind of a Mexican Vibe from the it.

It’s been quite exciting to see what the end results are when doing stash busting projects. Now to keep that momentum going into the next crocheted surprise.

I bet some hearts 💕 just melted seeing this little bitty bear.

My Saturday evening is filled with crochet bears 🐻, peanuts 🥜, a single rose 🌹 and a little .
