Here is a sneak peak of the new facility we will be moving in to. The Granatier Sportsplex is closer and closer to opening for the coming season and will soon be one of the top all in one hockey complex’s in the city. We look forward to working with players again as soon as doors open.

We have received quite a few emails from customers wondering with the new phases starting in June if we will be opening again shortly. To answer that we are moving to a new location in Saskatoon but unfortunately it will not be ready for the June. We are hoping to be up and running by July but stay tuned here for the latest updates.

We appreciate all of the support from all our customers and look forward to working with players again as soon as possible!

Base Hockey Saskatoon is currently closed due to the COVID-19 situation and will keep our customers updated as things change. In order to keep providing services to players as they practice their shot at home, we will be adapting our service. By submitting an email of your shot within a week you will receive feedback as well as ways to work on your technique at home. This service will cost $40 and can be paid for via e-transfer to the email above.

A question we often get asked is "What does the lie of a stick really mean and how do you know what a player should be using?"

To answer that: The lie of a stick refers to the angle in which the shaft is when the blade is flat or makes the most contact with the ground. Lies can range anywhere from 4-7 and are often accompanied by specific curves based on the pocket location. When looking at getting a stick for a younger player we recommend sticking in the middle around a 5 lie as it will help them learn the easiest. When it comes to high-end players that are looking to get the most out of their stick we take a few things into consideration when selecting a lie:
-The position they play
-The style of skater they are (upright or low)
-The type of shot they most use
-Where they like to release the puck from
Finding a lie that fits with the player's attributes will help them get shots and passes off faster and with more accuracy.

With seasons starting up we want to remind you that we will again be offering group rate packages for teams that are looking to get their players in for sessions. We will also continue to offer on ice sessions with teams, these are run during a regular team practice with us taking a few minutes with each player to run through some fundamentals of a shot. This option comes out to just $150 plus tax for the team!!
