Limited spots available- advanced registration is required to confirm space and receive the studio door code (sorry no drop ins).

Level up your skills, knowledge and confidence in various styles of street dance! Develop your techniques while learning about the history, culture and creators of each dance. ☮️ 🤝🤍🥳

Currently accepting registrations for semester 1 (Sept-Dec), no performance. All tech classes are Open Level- Some experience with street dance is recommended however we welcome all who are passionate about learning these styles and down for a fun challenge.

Technique series taught by def SOL director Amanda Murray Amanda Murray who has over 20 years of experience training, teaching, performing and competing in the Hip Hop/Street Dance scene -locally and internationally.

💥 It’s not too late to sign up- We are still accepting registrations for fall classes!

We know how busy this time of year can be so we are offering a late registration until September 14th which is our first day of classes!! Scroll left to see our full schedule. Scroll down for class info and updates. 🥳

Technique Classes (Sept-Dec)- open level classes for dancers wanting to level up their skills and knowledge in specific street styles. Updates: We only have a couple of spots left in the House & Dancehall classes! Funk & Groove will have some room for drops ins/trials the first two weeks.

Performance Groups (Sept-May)- non competitive classes exploring Hip Hop & Street dance foundations. A single semester option may be available for select classes- please inquire if interested. Updates: Nu Soulz & Breakin only have 2 more spots available! Lil Homiez, Stunnaz & Nu Hype will have some room for drops ins/trials the first two weeks.

Competitive Teams (Sept-May)- full season and minimum two class requirement. Last chance to audition will be held on September 9th. Please contact for more info.

Location: Second Act Studios -205A Pacific Ave. **Important: Registered participants only for the class trials from 4-7pm as you need a door code to enter. For the registration from 6-8pm we will be watching the door to let you in. 🙏🏽

👟 Free Class Trials | 4-7pm (studio #2): Open all levels welcome! Please sign up before 3PM today at defsol.ca/workshops!! We will send a confirmation and door to access the building. All participants must bring a pair of clean indoor running shoes/sneakers- no outdoor footwear allowed in the studio.

4:00-4:45pm Hip Hop | Ages 5-7yrs
5:00-5:45pm Hip Hop | Ages 8-11yrs
6:00-6:45pm Breakin | Ages 10yrs+

🗓️ In Person Registration | 6-8pm (lobby): For anyone wishing to register for the season by cash or cheque. Please note we do not accept debit/credit onsite. Also a great opportunity for any new students to stop by and check out the venue or chat with the director about options for the upcoming season! **Important Notice: we are no longer holding an in person registration on August 31st - this will be the only in person event before our September 1st registration deadline.

👟 Build your skills, knowledge and confidence in the foundations of Breaking (toprock, downrock, freezes, intro to power for those ready). Develop your freestyle and individual creativity.

👟 Coached by the super talented Brand Ze Ro (Fall-in Brotherhood/Floor Convicts) who brings over a decade of experience as both a competitor and instructor nationally and internationally!

👟 Additional opportunities available to perform and enter competitions (battle) for those interested!

Class time: Mondays 5:30-6:25pm
Location: Second Act Studios

Full season (Sept- May) - perform as a team May 8 plus opportunities to enter freestyle battles (1v1, 2v2)!

Join me for an evening of quality Grooves! ✌🏽🪩

After my first summer off in over two decades, this is officially the longest I’ve ever gone without dancing!! Just couldn’t wait any longer so I’m offering a mini workshop featuring some of my favorite street styles and grooves! Come through and vibe. 💗

🗓️: TUESDAY, AUGUST 25th

5:30-6:25pm Funk n’ Groove | Ages 12yrs+
6:30-7:25pm House Footwork | Ages 12yrs+
7:30-8:25pm Dancehall Steps | Ages 18yrs+
*Dancehall geared to adults as moves may be spicy.

Level: Open- Some dance experience is recommended but all are welcome to the challenge!

Cost: $20.00 per Individual Class or $60.00 for All Three! Etransfer in advance, Cash at Door.

Register: Please sign up in advance to guarantee a spot (drop ins will be permitted only if space is still available). www.defsol.ca/workshops. We will send a confirmation and door code to access the building.
