The Beaver Freezer Marathon

Thanks to all who participated in the 2024 Beaver Freezer Marathon…Plan C!

Presented by and .ste.marie . Mother Nature flexed her muscles and made the course challenging for everyone involved but with the help of many volunteers the event was a great success.

We want to say a great big THANK YOU to all the groomers who worked so hard attempting to get all three courses ready to go this year. Jim Mihel, Darrel Phillion, Reg Peer, Chris Sanger and others put in huge efforts for this race and our community. Thanks to all the other 50+ volunteers who came out and braved the rain and snow. There are so many volunteers to thank that we will have to send them a second email!

A big shout out to and the Bible Fellowship Church who kept competitors and volunteers fed and motivated.
Prizes were donated by Catalyst Fitness , Bioedge Supplements, Algoma Bicycle Co , Velorution and Barban Construction who created the winner’s plaques.

Thank you again for competing in the 2024 Beaver Freezer Marathon. We hope to see you again the 2nd weekend in March, 2025…where we will be back on the frozen waterways.

Beaver Freezer Winter Race Returns: Conquer Winter Trails on March 9th at Hiawatha Highlands

The Beaver Freezer Winter Race is back on March 9th, inviting participants to embrace the winter spirit and conquer up to 42 kilometers of stunning trails at Hiawatha Highlands. Support these local events by signing up!

Date: March 9th
Location: Hiawatha Highlands
Distances: Choose from 42km, 24km,14 km or 5km races.

Specialized rescue crews and volunteers will ensure participant safety, with aid stations along the way for refueling.

Check out the Northern Superior Finish Line Party at Hiawatha Highlands!
Live music by amazing local musicians, drinks up for grabs served by Loplops Lounge, Hogans Homesteads famous maple syrup taffy bar and Science North will be on site with their interactive Animal Extravaganza interactive exhibit. Everyone is welcome to come check out the finish line area!
