Introducing Our Seniors of the Month! π
This month, we're shining the spotlight on regulars to the centre, Terry and Elizabeth!
Terry first joined us in 2022 to learn pickleball and quickly realized how much more our community had to offer. Now 72 years young, you can find him playing snooker, pickleball, and playing the ukuleleβin fact, he's even begun volunteering to teach ukulele to other seniors! He loves the welcoming staff, meeting new people, and especially enjoys seeing others succeed at things they never thought they could do. His advice? "Find something active you like doing & stick with itβit pays off when you're older!"
Elizabeth has been bringing her vibrant energy to the centre since 2016, after patiently waiting until she turned 55 so she could officially join her friend here! Now, she takes part in nearly every program we offer and has made countless close friends over the years. You can often spot her dressed up at many of our events and spreading joy around the centre. Her advice is to "never stop learning, try new things and don't give up," and she leaves us with a great reminder: "Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think!"
Thank you, Terry and Elizabeth, for helping make Active 55+ such a wonderful place to belong.
Be sure to say hello when you see them around the centre, and stay tuned as we continue celebrating the incredible people who make our community thriveβone Senior of the Month at a time!
