Health & Safety Professionals Inc. recently delivered a customized four-day training program for Tenaris In Canada at their Sault Ste. Marie location.
The program, Health and Safety Oversight for Project Leaders, was developed to support project leaders in strengthening their understanding of health and safety responsibilities and oversight during project work.
This program was developed in collaboration with the team at TenarisUniversity, Tenaris project managers, and the Safety/Environmental Department to ensure the content reflected the practical requirements of project leadership.
The training was led by Sandy Mayers Ibbitson, who facilitated the sessions with the support of the team over four days.
Thank you Tenaris for trusting us with this initiative and supporting local.

Delivered a health and safety training session for SalDan Construction Group, working with over 90 construction workers and supervisors.
The session focused on reviewing key health and safety policies and how they apply in day-to-day site operations. We incorporated interactive elements, including Sli.do, along with scenario-based discussions to support engagement and practical understanding.
There was strong participation throughout, and the interactive approach helped encourage open discussion across the group.
Overall, a solid session with good conversation around reinforcing expectations and strengthening safety awareness on site.

Family Day reminds us why workplace health and safety matters.
Every shift worked.
Every hazard managed.
Every precaution taken.
It all comes back to this — getting home to the people who matter.
Use this long weekend to check in with your loved ones about their working conditions. Ask questions. Listen. Advocate. Support.
Safety doesn’t stop at the job site. It starts with conversations at home.
Wishing you a safe and connected Family Day.

Health and safety training doesn’t have to follow a script. Sometimes, the best learning happens when creativity takes centre stage.
Last week, our team had the pleasure of spending a full day with the Sault Area Hospital (SAH) management team, as part of their Leadership Development Institute (LDI) program — a day dedicated to health, safety, and leadership growth.
Rather than taking a traditional classroom-style approach, we partnered with SAH’s planning committee — including representatives from Safety, Learning and Development, and Senior Management — to co-design an interactive and engaging experience. Together, we set out to demonstrate that effective health and safety conversations can be both practical and impactful.
The day began with a Safety Surprise Challenge, where participants used everyday items — from toy cars and balloons to festive decorations — to explore workplace hazards and controls. Each table shared insights and ideas, culminating in the creation of a “Safety Tree” 🌲 — a creative reminder that safety awareness is rooted in everything we do.
Our President, Louise Caicco Tett, then led an important discussion on recent Working for Workers Act updates and shared three real-world healthcare cases that encouraged thoughtful reflection.
The session continued with a series of live skits, presented by SAH’s very own “Fun Committee,” who brought to life realistic healthcare scenarios, including:
• Slips, trips, and falls resulting in a critical injury
• Infectious disease exposure
• Workplace violence and harassment
And to close the day on a high note — quite literally — the Fun Committee led everyone in song: “The 12 Gifts of Safety.” 🎶 It was a lighthearted and meaningful way to celebrate learning, teamwork, and the importance of safety in every role.
Thank-you to the Sault Area Hospital team for welcoming us, contributing ideas, and embracing a different kind of safety conversation. Together, we proved that meaningful learning can be serious, engaging — and even a little fun.
