Congrats to everyone who levelled up yesterday at our spring/summer grading. This is not an easy thing to do, and it's not supposed to be. That's why a little piece of tape, or a piece of cloth can feel so rewarding.
Keep showing up for yourself, and keep showing up for each other.
Congrats to Ryder Hopkins Daniel Curtis, Creo Solomon Amadeu Vaghetti 🇨🇦 🍁 and Joe Fragomeni on their new belts, and huge congrats to Mike MacKinnon on becoming the 2nd ever black belt at SCMMA to make the entire journey from white to black at our gym.
Big thanks to Professor Dan Moroney for the great teaching and coming to spend time with us again.

LIVE BOXING IS COMING BACK TO THE SAULT!
We're super excited to be hosting the first live boxing event in Sault Ste. Marie in over a decade this fall.

Sanctioned by this event will feature some of the top Olympic style boxers from across Ontario, Michigan and Quebec, competing at the beautiful venue.

Local fighters you can expect to see on the card include .al.chav87 Brent Murray, Belal Ahmadi, , .ayotte, , , .r_jasmeet, Karan Singh and more!

This event will sell out! Be on the lookout for a ver short early bird ticket pre-sale, whoch will allow you to grab the best seats at a discount price for jumping in early.

A few notes about the summer schedule:

ADULT/TEEN CLASSES: All adult/Teen classes are "all level" classes. Teens who wish to continue training in the summer will participate in the adult classes.

YOUTH CLASSES: Youth classes will run until June 18th, and be on break the week of June 22-26.
There will be a 2 class "Youth Self Defense" class on June 29th and July 1st at 6pm. This class is FREE for current Steel City MMA members.
Regular youth classes resume July 6th.

DAYTIME CLASSES:
Daytime classes will end June

We use the gi to mimic grabbing clothes that some is wearing and using them against an attacker.
What if an attacker is wearing a Grinch costume? A suit and tie? A medieval Renaissance dress? Does your jiu jitsu still work?
We had some fun with it.

Busy and succesful weekend for the SCMMA strikers with 3 boxers and 4 kickboxers in action yesterday.
Huge congrats to René, Belal, Brent, Julia, Georgia, Cam and Cormac for repping the Steel City MMA green and black with pride.
Wins and losses don't define us, the effort we put in does, but the goal of winning gives us purpose and pushes us to make ourselves better. Congratulations to Julia, Georgia, Belal and Brent on bringing home the W's.
