Congrats to a trio of Sangha teams who finished in the money at the GTTBA Mixed Doubles event at Bowlero Brampton. In 8th place we had Wally and Grady, in 5th place we had Cathy and Steve and in 1st place Taryn and Daniel.

As stated earlier, Chris Kobayashi Reid had another fabulous week as he was over average in all his games shooting a season high 297 (he was perfect on the first eleven shots), a 256, a season high 775 triple and a league high +145. Dan Reid had a 263 game. Chris D’Arcy had a 259 game and was +43. Ryan Murata had a 247 game. Christine Takasaki had a 176, a 177 and a +54. Janet Sakauye had a 163 game and was +34. Dennis Inamoto had a 222 game and was +41. Ryan Ogaki tossed a 185, a 214, a season high 550 triple and a +82. Garrett Amemori had a 219 game and a +42. Grady Cira was over average in all his games including a 226 game and a +64. Mike Koyata had a 189 game. Joan Murai shot a 130, a 134 and a +50. Kelly Sakauye was over average in all her games including a 192 game and a +56. Vern Miike had a 212 game. Richard Harada was over average in all his games including a 197 game and a +60. Nik Erickson had a 146 game.

In the consolation round the squad of Roger Inamoto, Joan Murai, Kelly Sakauye and Vern Miike finished first with a 5682 total. The team of Pam Geurtsen, Abbas Noor, Ryan Ogaki and Garrett Amemori slot in second with a 5649. The crew of Christine Takasaki, Janet Sakauye, Dennis Inamoto and Cliff Amemori finished third with a score of 5599.

April 12, 2026 – Week 26 Playoff Finals
The 2025-26 Sangha Bowling season is officially complete. We thank all the bowlers for creating a fun-filled season. We also congratulate the foursome of Cathy Ishii, Abi Wong, Ray Koyata and Chris Kobayashi Reid for not only finishing the season as League Champs but also topping the field as the Playoff Champs. They clinched the playoff crown by shooting a pair of games over 1000 total pins finishing with a 5748 total. Captain Chris Kobayashi Reid took his team on an incredible run as he was a +230 over the six games. Second place in the playoffs go to the quartet of Rich Harada, Nik Erickson, Wally Inamoto and Wes Yamamoto who shot 5635. Third place goes to the first series winners of Lynda Gourlie, Alex Dey, Mark Umemura and Chris D’Arcy who tallied a 5579 score.

The ritual of changing lanes after each game certainly took its toll on our bowlers as many suffered poor results. Here are some of the highlights; Abi Wong was over average in all her games including a 129 game and a +27. Chris Kobayashi Reid was also over average in all his games including a 256, a league high 709 triple and a +82. June Harada had a 173 game and a +33. Luke Murata tossed a 190, a 184 and a +62. Karen Martin had a 193 game. Kelly Murata had a 184 game. Lynda Gourlie had a 161 game and was +34. Mark Umemura had a 202 game and was +30. Ryan Murata had a 259 game and was +30. John Dobranski was over average in all his games including a 194 and a +71. Dennis Inamoto had a 204 game and was +28. Taryn Saito had a 213 game. Pam Geurtsen shot a season high 217 game and was +73. Garrett Amemori had a 205 game. John Varone bowled a 194, a season high 219 game, a season high 544 triple and a +88. Joan Murai was over average in all her games including a 138, a season high 391 and a league high +97. Kelly Sakauye shot a 190, a 170 and was +39. Vern Miike had a 211 game. Nik Erickson was over average in all his games including a pair of 135 games and a +46. Wes Yamamoto had a 214 game.

April 12, 2026 – Week 25 Playoffs
The first week of playoffs had our twelve teams separate into the top six playoff group and the bottom six consolation group. In the playoff group, the Wes Yamamoto team currently holds a 18-pin lead over second placed foursome captained by Gary Tanaka and a 61-pin lead over the third placed quartet led by Chris Reid. In the consolation round, Vern Miike’s squad holds a 31-pin lead over the second placed team captained by Garrett Amemori and a further 147-pins over the third placed unit led by Ryan Murata. Next week will be our last week of bowling for the season so bring you’re “A” game!
