Ceylon Cricket Club is back in action today as we take on Deccan Chargers.

We’re making a few changes to today’s lineup, with Kavindu Silpage returning to lead the side from the front.

We’re also excited to welcome two talented young players from NCA, Nirav Dhaliwal and Ravin Nauth, into the squad. Both are promising youngsters with bright futures, and their inclusion reflects our commitment to the long-term growth and success of the Club by continuing to invest in the next generation of talent.

Good luck to the boys as we look to put in another strong team performance.

After a week off, Ceylon Cricket Club is back in action as we reach the halfway point of the season with our 8th match.

Our campaign so far stands at:

Today’s challenge is a big one as we take on a very strong Spartans side.

Ceylon will be without regular captain Dilesh Thurairatnam, who is away on vacation, with former captain Jason Shanthikumar stepping in to lead the side. We will also be missing dynamic all rounder Jedd Joseph, who is currently competing at the Windward Islands Trials.

We’re excited to welcome Krishen Missir back into the squad after representing Team Ontario U18 at the Canada Cup in British Columbia, where he impressed with the ball, showcasing his skill against some of the country’s top young talent. We’re happy to have you back!

Every match is another opportunity to grow, compete and represent our club with pride. Let’s leave everything on the field today.

🕊️ Rest in Peace, Sir Garfield Sobers (1936–2026)

Today, the cricketing world mourns the loss of a true icon. Sir Garfield Sobers has passed away at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy that will never be matched.

Widely regarded as the greatest all-rounder the game has ever seen, Sir Garry represented the West Indies with excellence from 1954 to 1974. Across 93 Test matches, he amassed 8,032 runs at an extraordinary average of 57.78, claimed 235 wickets, and inspired generations with his brilliance on both sides of the ball.

His unbeaten 365 remains one of cricket’s most iconic innings, while his historic feat of becoming the first player to hit six sixes in a single over of first-class cricket cemented his place in sporting history.

More than the records, Sir Garfield Sobers embodied excellence, humility, and the spirit of Caribbean cricket. His impact transcended statistics and generations, inspiring millions around the world to love the game.

Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, former teammates, and the entire West Indies cricket community.

The boys head into today’s fixture full of confidence after a commanding 142-run victory over a talented young OCA side last weekend. It was a complete team performance, with players stepping up at key moments with both bat and ball.

Today’s challenge is to build on that momentum, play with the same intensity, and continue setting the standard.

Ceylon Cricket Club is back in action as we take on the Niagara Tuskers, with both sides searching for valuable points. We’re still chasing our first victory of the season, but today’s another opportunity to get our campaign rolling.

With captain Dilesh Thurairatnam away, Jason Shanthikumar takes the reins, while Hardik Kotak makes his season debut. Also making his first appearance of the season is leg-spinner Sajan Sisodiya, adding another weapon to the attack.

Time to put in a complete team performance. Let’s get behind the boys and bring home our first win! 💙💛

The long overdue wait is finally over.

After seeing 2 of our first 3 matches washed out by rain, and our remaining fixture postponed due to a bizarre situation involving safety protocols and Cricket Canada, Ceylon Cricket Club is finally set to take the field.

With the calendar nearly turning to July, our 2026 campaign officially begins as we face Toronto Cricket, Skating & Curling Club this weekend.

The boys are eager, prepared, and hungry to get started. Our focus is simple: register our first win of the season and build momentum for the journey ahead.
