Selkirk Steelers Junior 'A' Hockey Club (Est.1966). Proud member of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League The 1973-74 season was the Steelers most successful season.
Junior "A" hockey in Selkirk dates back to at least 1918, the founding of the MJHL. As one of the original members of the MJHL, the Selkirk Fishermen became the second ever Turnbull Cup, MJHL Champions by winning the 1920 playoffs. The Fishermen were crowned Western Junior "A" Champions and given the Abbott Cup. They moved on to the Memorial Cup for the National Championship, but were defeated by

A former Winnipeg Jet will be working in the MJHL this upcoming season.
The Selkirk Steelers announced today that they’ve hired former Jets goaltender Michael Hutchinson as the team’s new goaltending coach.
Hutchinson, 36, announced his retirement from professional hockey at the end of July.

The Selkirk Steelers are excited to announce the hiring of Michael Hutchinson as the clubs goaltender coach for the 2026-27 season.
Following a 15 year pro career, 5 with the Winnipeg Jets and 154 NHL starts, the Steelers are very excited to have Michael on the staff for the coming season.

Registration for the Selkirk Steelers Skills Camp closes Wednesday, August 19 at 5 PM!
Join us August 25 to 28 for four full days of hockey, skill development and fun for players ages 5 to 14. Camp runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day and includes on ice sessions, dryland training and games, skills and development stations, healthy snacks, plus a pizza party and scrimmage to wrap up the week! 🍕🏒
Cost is $299, taxes included. Participants should bring a light and dark coloured jersey for on ice sessions and their own lunch each day.
