To say that Randi is compassionate about people is an understatement, her empathetic and understanding values serves her well and if there is anyone looking for a listening ear, she always makes time.
Randi has always been in a leadership role being the oldest of three, a wife, and a mother to four beautiful children. Randi has chosen to go back to school as a mature student moving towards future goals in the health and fitness industry, more specifically Kinesiology. The drive and passion for health and fitness has always been in Randi’s life as she has been on a pair of hockey skates since she was two years old. Growing up with a father who played professional hockey has taught Randi to have heart and that if she puts in the effort and hard work anything is achievable.
Although Randi was a stay-at-home mom for twelve years she felt the drive and need for more from life and in 2017 attained her 200 hr Yoga training certificate which then propelled into her 300 hr hour Yoga training at Empowered Yoga in Edmonton. After that she took her Canfitpro group fitness course and knew the education she wanted to relay to her clients needed to be of a higher standard and began her school journey in 2019 at GPRC. Nutrition has always been of high interested and Randi found herself taking the course, I
Healthy Eating and Weight Loss Specialist. Randi recognizes that education and information can be a powerful thing and intends to bring the best source of knowledge to her clients that she knows.
Being a student has many challenges and with her husband away at work, juggling being a mom to teenagers and a full-time student life can become hectic and requires check-ins and balances. However, if not emersed in textbooks and homework Randi loves spending time with her children and three furry felines, going on adventures such as being at the ski hill, sledding, or going on road trips. Randi is excited for a new chapter in her book of life and knows that it is time to get out of her comfort zone and begin to help others on their fitness journey.

One more lecture day, one study day, and then the final exam! Wrapping up my nutrition course! I know I say every course is my favourite but this one has been a long time coming and has Blown my mind 🀯! I have already lost weight from just being aware of what I am putting in my body. The cholesterol the body needs is synthesized in the liver and is used to help our cells keep a good consistency. It also is used to produce the hormones estrogen and testosterone, it also helps synthesis bile and Vitamin D. Reading this you can see that cholesterol can be a good thing and we most all think of it as bad. Unfortunately we can also obtain bad cholesterol from foods that are high in saturated fat (our daily intake should not exceed 10% of SF a day). There are two types of cholesterol the good kind HDL (high density lipoproteins) and the bad kind LDL (Low density lipoproteins). LDL is found in the blood stream and can stick to the artery walls causing a plaque build up called Atherosclerosis. If this happens in the coronary artery it can cause a heart attack, if it happens in the carotid artery (brain) it can cause a stroke, and in the leg artery it can cause peripheral artery disease which causes numbness, weakness and foot sores that do not heal. HDL takes LDL away from the blood and brings it into the liver to increase HDL and decrease LDL we need to increase a heart healthy diet, exercise, maintain a healthy weight, quite smoking (if you are), and you may even need to take medications. The only way to measure your Cholesterol is through a blood test. Do you need to book an appointment today? I do.
