His time as a bomb-disposal operator operator in Afghanistan reminded Wade of the preciousness of life, of the requirements of ownership and trust, and the need to slow down in spite of the world seemingly spinning out of control. Wade is a mentor coach on the Accomplishment Coaching leader team in Victoria, BC and resides in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. For over 24 years I served the Canadian Armed Forces, reaching a place among some of the elite. Life went on year after year and something was always missing, I felt hollow, incomplete. I planned and anticipated my next big thing year after year, always looking for lasting happiness on a vacation, or on some podium. It never came. But the brief spells of adrenaline, pleasure and endorphins were enough to get me through the next day, week, even the next year. Sound familiar?
